“Extremely Accommadating!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

I have had the plesure of staying in this hotel on several ocasions. The staff overall will exceed expectations while on your stay here. There are a few things that cannot be helped, but you must remember you are in India! Good stay, safe area.

Room Tip: You want to stay above the front desk, the opisite side holds weddings that will play music very lat...

We stayed here on an unplanned business The stay was comfortable and neat but surely not value for the money especially for a town like Vellore. Staffs are not professional. They are polite but with a quality of a low budget hotel. The house keeping is not upto the mark. food was ok. Telephone was not working properly. Linens and towel were not fresh. All the negetive commends made are in respect to the cost. Otherwise the place is ok for a safe night stay.

Pros:
(1) Reception staff and restaurant staff are very polite and prompt
(2) Excellent AC
(3) Food is not bad

Cons:
(1) Housekeeping is bad. For the room rent they charge, you would expect them to be prompt. We stayed for 7 days but the room was cleaned only once, after several reminders. Only two towels were provided for the family suite (4 beds) for the entire 7 days.
(2) The bulbs in the rooms are not powerful, so reading anything is a problem.
(3) Breakfast (complimentary) is never on time, half the items are never replenished even in 20 minutes, and even getting tea or coffee at breakfast needs a long wait.

Overall, though the hotel is okay, it does not deserve the 2-star rating, really. We do not know Tamil at all but that was never a problem in this hotel.

Very good 1st impression. We were on unplanned trip thru vellore. We had to stay that night at vellore. Front desk was busy attending 2 members. I had to wait. The bell boy came with the traffis & room facilities. He also confirmed rooms are avilable so dont worry please wait.

Decent hotel for 1-2nights to go around vellore/ on the way to bangalore. Veg food was seperate. Taste way not bad. breakfast was simple & good. During breakfast they were not able to manage the crowd. We had to wait but got good breakfast. Dinner was managed well/fast. Most of the facilities inside the room was ok.

Stayed in January with my family while visiting golden temple. Probably should have stayed at Bans, Chittoor. There doesn't seem to be much choice in vellore. Didn't want travel late night with kids back to bans (40+ km), so choose to stay in vellore itself for one night. Couple of things about my stay at this hotel:

- Language issue with staff (except reception and hotel). They are not rude at all. Knowing tamil would help.
- Reception folks were polite.
- Tipping situation is horrible. It is not just when some services are rendered, even while walking by hotel staff feels like they are expecting or waiting for tips. Once the guy came and reminded me that my parents forgot to tip him. They don't demand, but if you like me who is not good with these things can easily feel guilty or get to your mind.
- One of the toilets was not working. This is after specially requesting them to keep toilets clean.
- Food at hotel is spicy for my taste.
- Parking is behind the hotel. It's not covered. Could get dirty.

I would try something else next time.

Pleasant enough but ...
TV had the channel selector button and volume button removed...ceiling fan, light fixture falling off the wall. I just cannot get excited about this place. Highlight was the small garden at the front of the hotel. Reasonable room rate. Staff were pleasant but english communication was a challenge. Oh and the 7am wakeup call came at 1:30am. But then again this is India

Room Tip: why are you in Vellore anyway...not worth it.

There are not many great hotels in Vellore, and hence in that light, even a not so great place becomes good comparatively. Same is case with Hotel Surabi. In Vellore, it is among the best hotels..
Rooms: good in size.. however, lit in only yelow dim light.
bathroom : good, all fittings working fine.
breakfast: not that great..
service : ok ok ... little slow in getting food.. also they dont understand hindi or english, so not easy for a traveller..
receptiom : courteous and fine.

I would check out a couple of other hotels in vellore before checking into this one next time. However, fine hotel.

Room Tip: take a rooms on the higher floors, reception area gets noisy sometimes
