Wow!! This is a beautiful place. The staff are so cute, helpful and attemtive. I could not fault them.

This hotel is set away, it's stunning. There's lovely sun loungers, hammocks and huts on the beach to get out of the sun. The pools small.

The rooms are lovely, we stayed in a room that had an upstairs and then when we booked extra nights we moved to a smaller room that had a beach view.

There's a short swim or kayak ride over to the other beach, it was lovely to swim across to.

Breakfast was lovely. The food at lunch and evening were great, the menu might of got a bit boring if you stayed here for a while. Best massaman I've ever had!

We hired a bike so we could whizz around, we got to see two beautiful waterfalls and found some great beaches.

There is I cash point on the island.

This hotel is so stunning and extremely relaxing, the staff are so welcoming.

I do not like to go twice to the same place, very often I got disappointed but here… it does not happen… the hotel is well located, easy access. It might take some time to reach from Bangkok but that what make it even more worth going..
The team has the “can do attitude”… this also make the difference.
We all had very existing days on the fishing and waterfall trip, whatever the weather can be it will remain a wonderful souvenir. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by the activity manager, and he knows how to entertain… especially with a 4 young kids.. the special kid massage is also a nice way to relax :)
I have stay in Front row room previously and this time in middle row…. Both room types are kept in good order.

I love this awesome natural place.
The sky is so blue with surrounding green space that is perfect combination so I felt like I was in mountain and the sea in the same time.
Staffs are so nice and friendly. They have an excellent service and provide me good activities such as kayak, more importantly it's free!!!
I don't hesitate to spend my next vacation again there.

The wife and I wanted to get away for Songkran. We'd been to Koh Chang before and loved it, but never to Koh Kood. As a compromise, we spent 2 nights on the familiar Chang and another two on the unexperienced Kood. The speedboat we caught directly from the Chang dropped us off at Away's pier. This is one of Away's decided advantages. It's easy to get to by boat, is within walking distance via the shallow water to a long sandy beach, and within simple kayaking range down a mangrove estuary to one of the island's more noteworthy waterfalls. While there were only two of us, the duplex bungalow offered sleeping for two more upstairs, so a non-Catholic family could fit into a bungalow without feeling cramped.

You come to Koh Kood to get away from it all, and you'll feel that way at Away. We ate at Away for most meals. The food is decent. On our last night, we wanted something non-Thai and made the 1 km trek uphill to a small Thai-Italian restaurant.

It rained a lot while we in Koh Kood. When you're cooped up inside under the pouring rain, it's nice to be under the covers in a cozy environment. You'll find that here.

Room Tip: There are beachside and hillside bungalows. The beachside are more expensive but 50% larger per flo...

We stayed in the hotel for 6 nights in April 2013 in one the beach front bungalow and had a great time as we were looking for a very quiet environment.
All the staff is very friendly and helpful and I can only recommend to organize a fishing/snorkeling trip on a traditional fishing boat with Same from the hotel team. He also can take you to a waterfall near by in canoe where you can have a swim and a picnic.
There is a very nice beach across the hotel that you can reach with a canoe in1 minute ( or swimming)- The beach is ideal for little children as it s very shallow- The hotel also have a little swimming pool if you fancy a change. There is also a sandy beach in front of the hotel but we did not use it as there are some rocks between the beach and the sea.

Room Tip: Second and third rows bungalows have got steep stairs so may not ideal for young children

We stayed at Away for seven nights in March 13. Only 24 hours after our return we'd received an email from the resort suggesting we download our thoughts on trip advisor. Great start.

Transport - There are two boats to the island from Trat on the mainland- one fast and one slow. The faster speedboat is great in that it also drops you off at the hotels jetty - for that you pay double the price and its probably pretty uncomfortable in strong seas
Accomodation - there are three rows of bungalows - beach front with two beds - middle beach facing with one bed and a newer row of duplex rooms on the top level. We upgraded (1000 BHT per night) to beachfront and found these to be far roomier and convenient. My hunch is the beach facing ones are a bit of a squash for two or more people.
Bathrooms - This was the one downside to our room - it desperately needed a serious investment programme - painting and decorating and getting rid of the overwhelming stench of sewage
Food - Food at the resort was really very good if twice the price of a local option down the road. For the view , the vibe and the service we ate in every other night.
Nart - The resorts majestic front of house manager is the key to this places sucess - nothing is too much of a problem and whilst many of her team have very little english this wonderful woman more than makes up for it
Beach - as per other reports one downside here is there is no direct beach/ocean access. The fliipside is that you dont get boats of tourists piling into the resort every day and kayaking over to the Peter Pan/Tinkerbell beach in the morning is fun ( kayak and snorkelling kit all free.
Breakfast - fine, a little repetetive after a few days but staff do thier very best. The coffee however is shocking - most guests we saw walk up the road to Dicks fabulous little beach hut coffee shop for a cup of his wifes Vietnamese coffee

The only small blights to this otherwise wonderful little corner of paradise is an irritating evening to late night bar (Sunset bar - opposite ) with house music so loud the staff talked about calling the police. And a dodgy industrial cargo bay right next to the hotel which again makes a bit dent in the tranquility when loads of building supplies are being shipped into the island. Both are potentially marginally worrying signs of the development the island faces in years to come

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms felt more spacious
