This has to be one of the few places in Koh Jum that haven't changed much in the past 6 years. Whilst most oother places along Andaman beach seem to be upgrading, up-pricing and trying to attract more families with more money, Bo Daeng has remained the same little bacpacker haven it always was. The proof in the pudding is that after a 6 year absence we returned to find soome of the same folks we met 6 years ago were back again. The rooms are very simple and certainly not for those who are accustomed to bit more luxury. Electricity is all solar powered and lasts until it runs out so don't be expecting lights all night long (or any rooms with airon whatsoever for that matter). But the price can't be beaten and neither can the vibe. The staff are friendly and the crowd that's drawn here are generally good, salt of the earth type folks that make for great company (whether just chilling around the resort, building bonfires on the beach, or breaking it down at a party at one of the other resorts down the beach). We had planned to pop in for a night or 2 and see how the island had changed but ended up staing a bit longer and only left because our visa was about to run out.
