Animal parks in Europe are often narrow, with little space for the animals. Kolmården north of Norrköping (1,5 - 2 hours south of Stockholm) is an exception. It is spacious with a good walkpath through the park. The number of animals may not impress, but it is a fair representation of animals, both scandinavian and global.
It was fun to see the animals a little from above with the cable cars that goes around the park.
On ground the animals may hide, especially on hot summerdays.
One thing that stands out is the dolphin show - not to be missed.
The park is slightly expensive, thought. Cheaper during low-season.
My slightly handicapped mother joined us on the trip, and the staff let us drive the car to another entrance, without the need of walking up the hill. Thank you!
The park has a church, too, that may be used for weddings or baptizing childs. Or just visiting.
