We got married at Chipping Sodbury Town Hall on 9th June and we (the bride and groom) stayed her ealong with a number of our wedding party. In fact we took over the whole hotel! The owner of the hotel, was fantastic from the second our guests arrived (some travelled up the night before and stayed for two nights). Guy and his wife were welcoming, hospitable and charming throughout the stay and welcomed us to treat the place like home. The room my new husband and I stayed in was in a converted coach house in the grounds of the hotel and it was a lovely room full of character and with a lovely large bathroom.
All of our guests commented on how welcoming Guy was and how he couldn't do enough for them.
On the day of the wedding, Guy even drove my bridesmaids to the Town Hall then came back to the hotel and took myself and my father there. That was so kind and meant that my father did not have to leave his car in the town overnight. This was above and beyond the call of duty and greatly appreciated.
On the Sunday morning, we arrived in the dining room en masse so Guy and his wife had their work cut out cooking all the breakfast orders. Guy was the ultimate host - friendly, professional and "unflappable".
And the breakfast was nothing short of delicious - really good quality tasty ingredients with out cooked breakfast, together with plentiful toast, juice and tea and coffee.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone - lovely rooms that were spotlessly clean and the best owner/host we have come across.
Thank you to Guy and his wife for a wonderful stay!
The room outside the main building which is an old coach house (up some steps) is beautiful and full...
