“Truly an oasis!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Cafe Bonsai is truly an oasis. A great place to unwind and relax before, after, or during a day at the beach. From coffees throughout the day, homemade breads, great sandwiches and more - there is something for everyone. The owner is a relaxed laid-back guy (who speaks great English if you need him to) and the food is prepared fast and delicious. Be sure to get a mojito when you're there. Happy hour from 6 to 10 every evening, and a BBQ that is hard to beat. I've had a week here in Taganga and I think for the remaining two weeks I will end up at Cafe Bonsai several more times.

“Exellent home made bread, BBQ and best Mojito in Colombia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Cafe Bonsai it's a really recommendable Pleace that you should not miss during your visit in Taganga. The organic coffee and home made bread its unique in Colombia, every night they serve a great BBQ and also you get good drinks, do not miss the best mojito in Colombia! Beer lovers will be happy to find microbrewed beers from Bogota and Medellin here as well, what about a weizen in the caribbeans? The atmosphere and music is great too, wifi and aircon (the only place in town with AC) is helpful during hot days as well.

“Cafe excelente en Taganga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Cafe Bonsai is a lovely and cosy place to go in Taganga. The owner Johan is from Sweden and knows everything about good organic coffee, european-style bread and mojitos. I really enjoyed my time there and I totally can recommend this place. I nearly stayed two month in Taganga and Cafe Bonsai was definitely one reason for my ongoing stay-extension. Wifi and a book exchange accompany you while eating and drinking.

“finest coffee, bread and mojito in South America.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

I live in Taganga and Cafe Bonsai is like a second home to me. The ambience is chilled, good music, good aircon, good wifi. They make highly sought after sour dough bread with unique stuffings to die for. The coffee is very carefully sourced and expertly made, and it shows in the taste. The mojitos have to be tasted to be beleived, be careful they are very addictive! Almost forgot to mention the mouth watering barbeque, all items on the menu are extremely good, but I especially love the fillet beef, marinaded and skewered with peppers and mushrooms with potato salad - YUMMIIIIEEE!!!

“Lunch and coffee venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

If you are craving coffee, this is the place. First real coffee we had in a long time. Bread is not sweet, many varieties to choose from. Buy takeaway sandwiches if you are going hiking, to the beach or riding.

Excellent coffee and mini muffins.

BBQ is ok, but happy hour cocktails are good value.
