Having seen mixed reviews on here I thought I'd give my own feedback.
I stayed here at the start of the school summer holidays with my Husband and 2 boys aged 5 and 2. Overall we had a lovely stay, the apartment was lovely, very modern and despite other reviews I've seen was also very well equiped with everything you might need and then some. To be fair I know our apartment had literally just been finished though and we had 1 of the very few that actually overlooked the pool and was situated seconds away from the bar as well as pool. My only gripe about the accommodation was the beds, which creaked a lot! I think they were nice matresses but placed on old wire springs underneath.
The management company were also very accommodating and helpful whenever we had questions or issues.
Small downsides I would say is that the pub, whilst stating it served food all day, we went on 2 separate occassions and were informed that they weren't doing food so I'd double check before you bank on it for lunch. Also there weren't enough sunbeds for all the guests, having said that we got ours every day we needed one (but we do tend to get up very early with young kids). The poool doesn't open until 9am and generally people started arriving 9.30-10am. There's no towel reservations either which I really liked, the life guard will fold up any towels that have been left for any significant amount of time to allow those without beds to get one. The locals (probably not guests) also seem to arrive about 4-5pm in the afternoon onwards, but generally the sun goes from the pool area around 5-6pm anyway so it thins out then anyway.
My concern before booking was the distance from the sea-front but actually it's not a bad 15-20 min walk or you can catch the train (but it's generally quicker to walk, nice for the little ones though).
I can recommend the boat trip from the front in Conceircao, well worth the money and we had the boat all to ourselves - fab.
Overall we had a lovely time, I wouldn't return, but mainly because I never tend to go back to the same place and have found other resorts in the Algarve to have more on offer, but lovely and picturesque nonetheless.
