“Sustenance for body and mind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

On a cold and snowy March day we ventured through the beautiful North Yorkshire country lanes to visit the Moors National Park Centre. The cafe provided an excellent lunch, well prepared and presented and served by pleasant cheerful staff.
And the exhibition of North Yorkshire Moors life was just brilliant as it presented history and current information in a multimedia and interactive format. Well suited to visitors of all ages!
The local walks look appealing and we plan to return to try these though probably when the snow has gone!
No entry fee just a modest charge for car park.

“Impulse visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We visited the cafe, for a light lunch, having visited the splendid Information Centre on a previous occasion. We had with us a deaf and visually impaired elderly friend. Although it was very busy, the staff went out of their way to help us and willingly provided for our friend something which was not on the menu. We found the food well prepared and fresh and in our opinion was good value.

“Lovely Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We stopped here as we were passing, taking the scenic route home to Warminster, I think initially we thought we might fine a souvenir or two.

Oh how wrong we were, there was so much more, so much to read and see and to learn. The exhibition area is well laid out in an easy to follow sequence and the access is really good.

The views from the visitors centre are stunning and we visited in November. There is just something so magnificent about the moors as they exchange the brighter colours of summer for the darker shades of early winter and of course it was fairly soggy underfoot due to the dire summer that we have been inflicted with.

We were unable to do more than the visitors centre due to poor mobility but if the rest is as good as the part we saw then it's worth every penny of the entry fee

The is a fee, you have to pay to park AND charging for disabled parking, come on!

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

Lovely setting, sandwiches looked tired/not fresh. Dirty cutlery in the trays - staff didn't seem the least bit bothered when it was pointed out to them.

“Wonderful scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Come and visit this part of the world, everywhere you go is remarkable, the towns are filled with lovely people willing to serve in the shops or just stand and chat. We were in Pickering for the War weekend and what an experience, we hope to go next year. We have never seen anything like it.
