“Really good place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Really good place located in the northern part of Sweden. It must be fantastic in winter time. Sky-bar offers great night view of Solleftea, but in the morning you realize that this is a small town.
Good swimming pool with panoramic windows - you look down the slope just from the pool.

Did not stay at the hotel but I visited the SPA and restaurant. The hotel has been undergoing some renovations and the welcoming entrance with magnificent view overlooking the city of Sollefteå is above average! However there are a few things which keeps the rating down.

The SPA are is really nice with panorama windows all along the side and a lot of seating areas, Great variety of saunas and big jacuzzis. There is also a rather big pool. We came on early in the morning and the pool had a nasty smell of beer and you could see the signs of bottles and glasses left from the night before. The cleaning staff was already there but It would have been nicer if they had already have done that before opening in the morning. If you would like to order coffee of some drinks while visiting the SPA area you need to either pre-order or walk to the reception, which might not be to convenient while wearing bathing suite. I made a phone call to the frontdesk and solved it that way but there should be a waiter/ress visiting the area to see If someone would like something to drink. Two coffees and two glasses of orange juice was 80SEK which is kind of the pricey side!
Changing rooms was nice but missing out on hairdryers and a mirror with lighting for putting on makeup, way to dark in there.

We decided to have lunch after swimming and was offered and Buffé in the main restaurant. The salad table was ok but main courses was way below average. The hotel is marketing itself as a 5-star and the food was comparable to something that you would get in a school cantina!

Overall the hotel has not yet reach the level where they aspire to be. It takes more than some new refurbishments and some trendy decorations to be a 5-star hotel! It need to be the whole package!

We spent two days and one night here on a business conference and the location is great, high up on a slope so you have fantastic views over the town and the surrounding landscape. The exterior is very boring but the inside is better with very large windows for maximum views. Check in was smooth but it was hard finding my room, there are lots of corridors and stairs. The room was a bit small but very comfortable and modern, with a minibar and heated floors in the bathroom. The heat in the room was a big problem, it was very hot and it could not be adjusted anywhere. Also the switches were lit by a blue light which was very disturbing, especially the one by the bed which shone directly in your eyes. The dinner was ok but nothing more, and the breakfast buffet was decent but the scrambled eggs were made of powdered eggs and were horrible. Otherwise the selection was good and the views from the restaurant are great. The staff was overall nice. I myself didnt visit the spa but some colleagues did and it was not very clean in the pool.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the city.

A newly refurbished hotel (some work remains...) on the top of a mountain situated in the small town of Sollefteå with a beautiful view over the town and the landscape. We had a nice but quite small standard (?) room but there are different options like superior, family and different suites. A very nice spa with a quite large pool beside the jacuzzis and you can also choose from different treatments. We just visited the restaurant for a simple meal and it was quite alright and pleasant service, and once again the beautiful view. You also have a ski slope right by the hotel. The hotel has also good amenities for conferences. Could develop to a very nice place as it just opened in March!
