“Must visit when you are heding to badami-Aihole”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

The temple cluster at Aihole has charming architecture and intricatly carved walls and gopuram. The semicircular temple along with multiple pillars gives a glimpse of hindu architecture .
There are no good hotels/resturants around this place so do carry some food with you if you are planning to cover it during lunch time.

“Notes from my trip - This is part of Aihole Circuit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

Ladkhan temple is part of Aihole circuit and lies within the Durga temple complex. The temple is a must see if you are going to Aihole . It has a panchayati style hall as the strucutre of the temple without a tower but has a small shrine enclosure on the top.

The temple has very good art on the pillars and is dated to be 5th century.

I have written a detailed review of the same under http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g297627-d1654521-r195334347-Aihole-Karnataka.html#REVIEWS

“The best set of temples around Badami”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

Architecturally probably the best set of temples around this area.

Would take around 2 hours go through this set of temples.

“One of the oldest temples in S India”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

Beautiful example of early S Indian temple architecture. Do not miss! The group of temples at Aihole are wonderful. We took the kids along and hired a good guide to help us understand these. The guide kept us entertained and educated us about these temples.

“Spend some time in this complex”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Take a guide along. You won't understand anything without a good story teller! Very well maintained by ASI. No good restaurants near by. Plan well in advance. Finish Aihole & pattadukal and reach Badami for Lunch. Both needs 6hrs including travel.
