“Decent place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

I didn't have much expectation from the place and so I was happy to find a resort like this . Location was good. Cottages gave us a nice and warm feeling. There were only 6 cottages so no crowd. I specially enjoyed the morning tea outside and gazing at stars during night from the small garden. The collection of flower plants was excellent. Food was strictly average. The cook claims himself to be a cook with 30 years of exp. in Goan restaurant and will almost argue with you that whatever has been cooked is appreciated by all other tourists. South Indian food was OK. There were not many options available in Badami for food so we had to depend on the resort. We once had a lunch in Badami Court but found no significant difference in taste. There were no room services promised but the manager (Mr. Narayan) and one restaurant boy helped us in getting the things like morning tea etc. in our room. The treatment was no close to a premium hotel but given the price of stay and food I found it a value for money resort. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Considering the place this is the best place to stay in Badami but do not compare it with any other developed tourist places.

Room Tip: All the cottages are same but cottage no. 1 and 6 are slightly separately made so go for either of t...

A small hotel with just 6 cottages grouped around a small garden. Its situated just off the road away from town so is in a quiet area where you could have a good nights sleep. The cottage is of a very good size, a/c, tv we didn’t try, fridge and most importantly clean with a decent bathroom. Strangely it seems their policy is one towel per room though even with two people so I’m not sure what a family in the room would do? A comfortable place to stay but sadly the food was poor. Breakfast was either Indian or just toast and while I like Indian food, for Western tastes its not for breakfast. And their evening choice was limited, appreciated its a small establishment but there wasn’t a great choice and what we were served was quite cold and bland tasting. Still, overall OK for an overnight stop.

The location of the resort is perfect. The view from cottage was awesome. Mr. Masor, Peter were very helpful. Service was excellent. Mr. Masor gave me his cell phone for couple of days. Clean and staff were were cordial. I requested for Jolada roti and Badanekayi palya (North Karnataka special). They prepared it. Rates are very reasonable.

When we first arrived at the Heritage Resort, it looked quite quaint. We were told when we were signing in that the restaurant was vegetarian only. That wasn't too big of a deal because we were only there for 2 nights. When we got into the room and settled in, we noticed there was considerable dirt in the bathroom and bedroom. When it was time for bed, when we pulled the covers back, we noticed there were mice droppings on the sheets. When brought to the manager's attention, he apologized. We checked around town and everything was already booked so we endured for the 2 night stay. It's a shame because the place has so much potential but they definitely need to upgrade quite a bit.

My wife and I stayed at The Heritage Resort 2N/3D from October 20 to 22, 2013. We picked the place based on the favourable reviews in TripAdvisor, and found that the little resort fully deserved the compliments. Beautifully designed and laid out over a three-quarter acre plot of land amidst rocky hillocks and green agricultural fields, the resort has lovely cottages and rooms with, importantly, spotlessly clean bathrooms. Well-maintained lawns, lush gardens. The owner, Mr Masur, is very hands-on, and oversees every little aspect of running the place. Very helpful and friendly staff, led by Mr Narayan and Mr Peter. All three can give you helpful tips on planning your trips to the tourist attractions in and around Badami; they would also be happy to make transport arrangements.

Elegant and simple in design, and very clean too, the restaurant at the resort serves excellent home-style Indian vegetarian fare (no non-veg, no eggs, no alcohol). Unlimited helpings at both the complimentary breakfast as well as the fixed-price South Indian thali that is served at lunch. North Indian and Mughlai fare is served a la carte at dinner. Food is not pricier than in a good Udupi joint. But a word of caution,- if you like your food mildly spiced, tell them so.

All in all, an excellent base to explore the stunningly beautiful Badami Caves dating from the 6th-7th Century BCE and the other historical relics in nearby Aihole and Pattadakal. In fact, once you are done with that, it wouldn't be a bad idea to stay on for an extra day to simply relax and chill out at the resort; it really is that kind of place!

Room Tip: Cottages were fully booked, so we had to take one of the rooms in the building at the back. Though s...

We recently stayed here for two nights before Diwali. We were surprised at how clean and nice the rooms were... The beds were some of the most comfortable I've experienced in India! Since we were driving across India, we decided to park the park and use local drivers for our exploration of Badami, Padatakal, and Aihole. The hotel manager arranged an auto one day and a taxi the next.
We really liked the resort - it is very small - and definitely the choice place to stay in this area. The only area that could be improved was the food - esp. because it did not seem like there were any options in the town itself. Seem people complained that they could not get room service but the website and the hotel information clearly states there is no room service, so get over it! I would def. recommend this place to others.

Ours was a family vacation with three adults and two kids for two days. The resort is set amidst green lawns facing rocky hill range, just outside busy Badami town.

The resort is clean and very well maintained. Rooms and Cottages are spacious, well spaced out. Resort staffs were courteous and helpful. Only vegetarian food is served here; food was good.

Manager, Narayan and owner, Mr.Masur were very cooperative and helpful, they provided all the required information about local sightseeing and routes. They provided information about trek to Sidlaphadi Prehistoric Caves, which was not in our itinerary; reaching there was great experience!

Staying at Heritage resort was home away from home, wow experience.

Highly recommend this place to people who plan visit Badami.
