“Beautiful sculptures”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

the caves are not very far from the city of Badami which in itself is a small city. the caves are on high ground and you can easily get auto to the caves. Then you will have to climb quite a few steps to reach the very top. Do take precautions with monkeys.

“Worth the trip!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

Beautiful temples at varying levels with views over Badami and the surrounding area. Very interesting to see how they were carved out in a time before electric tools. The monkeys are highly aggressive so watch your things!

extremely beautiful, the view from above is so serene, try & go as early as possible, they open it at around 6am, it gets crowded after 9.30am.

“Not to be missed in Badami,”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

This I suppose is the essence of Badami, the town is built around these temples.

Though not architecturally spectacular they have a uniqueness of their own and definitely one of the must go places in south India.

Beware of the monkeys, people have messed up these monkeys by feeding them, and now they seem to think of all humans as a potential source of food, if only they can grab them or threaten the source to drop them. Quite a terror they were throughout our stay in Badami.

“Amazing architecture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

The location of these cave temples are very picturesque and they make a stunning sight late in the evening at sunset when the sunset paints them red. The sculptures are magnificient and the view from the topmost temple onto the Agastya lake and Bhootanath temple is marvelous. This is one not to miss sight.
