We had a great but eventful one night stay. The rooms are traditional style, basic but clean with shared toilet and shower facilities. We paid p1,000, which was expensive given the very basic facilities. During our stay there was a power cut which meant no running water and no showers, this wasn't the fault of the resort but at that price I expect to be able to take a shower.
The cliffs and bay in front of the resort are beautiful, it's worth staying at the resort just for the views!
The main issue we had at the resort was the food, we had booked ahead a few days in advance and had expected to be able to eat at the resort. Unfortunately as it was the low season, they had no food. We waited almost 2 hours in the dark for a tricycle to take us out to dinner, we then drove around for over an hour trying to find a resort that was open and had some food, we were turned away, very hungry from all the big resorts. Eventually we found the wonderful Villa Carolina where we received a very warm welcome and had a wonderful if very late dinner.
There is plenty to do in the area, the resort is a 30 minute walk to the beautiful Patar beach. The beach was very clean, quiet and peaceful but not very good for swimming due to the rough waves. We also walked to visit Cindy's cave, really interesting, beautiful caves.
Overall we had a really nice stay. Of staying during the low season, make sure you take your own food!
