Popped in for a last minute lunch yesterday and we were welcomed by very friendly staff, the food was great and it had d really nice and bright atmosphere, with a view over to Wales across the estuary.

Needing to stay in the area we chose Parkgate for the gorgeous views over the marsh. The Ship is a good place to stay, good value with comfortable rooms, excellent staff and service and good food. If you want a room in the old part of the building, make sure you ask when you book. There is a wing of modern rooms which has a bit of a Travelodge vibe to it - nothing wrong with that, but not what you want if you think you're going to be staying in an old pub. Four rooms at the front have a fabulous view over the marsh towards the Welsh hills, complete with birdlife and sunsets.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side can suffer from noise from the a/c unit.

Stopped off for lunch at the Ship whilst on a walk on the Wirral Way. Very pleasant bar with great views across the Dee. Nice patio area outside where I enjoyed a very good pint of beer (Trappers Hat) and a tasty beef sandwich. Would definitely go back to try the place in the evening.

We visited the Ship for a meal with my parents early on a saturday evening. We hadn't been before but my parents have and had recommended it. We were not disapppointed. We had alovely table in the window, overlooking the marshland. The service was great with friendly, helpful staff. The menu, whilst not extensive, offered sufficient choice, and the quality of the food was spot on. Lovely, tasty food which was well presented. We will certainly be going back.

Called in for lunch midweek, very quiet, nice looking food selection. Barman friendly and cheerful. Ordered beef sandwich and plate of chips. Chips really nicely cooked but came with what looked like sea salt crystals already on them. Beef sandwich well presented and tasty, but salad had so much dressing it spilt across plate making bottom piece of bread soggy. Person who delivered food did so with an inaudible comment that sounded like a mumble, turned away and had to be called back to ask for vinegar. Would go again though

This is my first stay at the Ship hotel with my wife. The room we had was very clean and comfortable with the customary kettle , tea and coffee etc, t.v. Heating could be easily controlled .
Bathroom was very clean, .Staff where very friendly. The bar and dining area was really buzzing giving off a marvelous atmosphere. The breakfast was freshy cooked and very tasty. overall we had a very good stay and would use the Ship again.

My partner booked this hotel as a birthday getaway . We stayed in the lord nelson suite a beautiful room indeed . The staff were helpful and friendly . And it was a lovely place tostay eventhough the weather wasn't great .the only issue I have is that I couldn't stay longer . On the plus side we will definately be back soon.
