“3 Go Mad, River Cottage Day Cooking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

I went to this full day at River Cottage, 12pm - 9pm and had a fantastic time. We baked bread, toured the Farm with really knowledgable and friendly staff, learned to cure bacon, made our own pizza's, prepared mackeral and partridge then ate the feast we had prepared with a glass of elderflower bubbly (and a few glasses of wine). Everyone commented on how enjoyable and interesting the day had been and I would recommend anyone to experience it for themselves.

“New Years Eve...a real treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We had a great time, the food was to die for...

We were greeted in the car park and taken to the cottage marquee on a tractor trailor, all part of the fun!
Elderflower champaigne followed by canapes and a description of the experience to follow, we had soup, lamb, scollops, crab, beef, dessert with the most lovely port ice cream, followed by petit fours and coffee and were royally entertained by a 2 piece fiddle and guitarist....
Great fun, a great night with wonderful staff, we will return for more...
Looking back through the reviews the negative ones seem to be from a while back, I think they must have sorted some things out, this is a real treat!

“Fabulous Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We were lucky to get two tickets to "day at river cottage" . We took turns in butchering a deer. Made our own loaf of bread, and pav. Didnt like the other course we made of Black Pudding as it is such an acquired taste and you dont get to take it home. Lots of other recipes could have been followed . Also would have been good to receive a written copy of recipes made during the day.
Great to walk through garden and being able to ask gardening/ farming questions was great experience. Wood fired pizza for afternoon tea was a real treat and the chefs made a lovely 3 course dinner. including our individual pav was a great touch. Thank you to all the chefs and helpers that "helped us" especially Stephen and Gill

“Fantastic day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

My girlfriend bought me tickets for valentines day. The weather on the day was probably the warmest day in march which added to the experience. I was all hyped up and i wasn't dissapointed. The stalls and all the cooking demonstration where fantastic. The views in the valley where breath taking. Beautiful location. The food on the day was a bbq and it was delicious washed down with a few stinger beers. An absolutely fantastic day and got to meet all tbe gang including the three hungry boys. A really sound bunch of people. Definitely will be back

“We will be going back..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

It's not often that something you anticipate so keenly exceeds your expectation but Saturday night at River Cottage on the 18th August did just that. My partner and I enjoyed every minute of our time at RC HQ from the trailer ride down to the amazing yurt for canapés through to the arrival of our taxi to take us home four hours later.
Everyone working that night was welcoming and friendly, the food was stunning (i mean every single mouthful) and the wine was perfect. I especially enjoyed being able to wander round the garden which I've avidly watched change with the seasons via the tv shows for years.
This place really is a little piece of paradise in Dorset, it's a concept, it's a dream realised and has been for many, many people an inspiration for a way of life and we loved it.
