“An encounter with Rob Roy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Great food with some unique dishes. Highly recommend trying the Rob Roy dessert! Thought service was slow in the back room but then realised that the front bar was absolutely heaving, great open fire and a good buzz all around. Plenty of families dining, so no worries there if you are cautious.

“Great pub, good atmosphere and selection of drinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We enjoyed a night here while staying in Kippford for a few nights. The staff were friendly and were hosting a quiz which we enjoyed taking part in. There was a selection of ales which suited my othere half very well. The pub held a good atmosphere and was a fun night overall.

“Food average and pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Was here for a late lunch at the weekend, was very busy and stuffy inside so decided to sit outside. We ordered a pint of coke, 2 cans of juice, a portion of chips (£2.50!!) and a sharer combo thing with onion rings, cheese dippers, scampi, potato wedges, garlic bread, 2 dips and chicken on the bone in a barbecue sauce which cost over £17!! The chicken wasn't very nice, and the rest was just dumped on the plate. I was not impressed especially for the price we were paying. Staff were very nice though.

“lovely food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

this pub is lovely. Food is amazing, large portions and good prices. The greek salad is huge and loads and loads of feta in it. Bar staff very friendly only sticking point is the waiting on staff. A smile would go a long way! It gets very busy and they don't take bookings so go early.

“Its not as good as it was!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We have been going to this pub for the last 7 years and its always been great. This year however it has gone downhill - the food choice was limited, the food seemed to be microwaved, portion size had gone down and prices gone up! Still nice but if you've been before you might be disappointed....
