“Don't bother”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

This restaurant was nice several years ago, now it's a different story, my belief it has been taken over by new management and the place has gone so far down hill it's underground. The food is absolutely awful the yorkshires are like cardboard no meat gravy hard potatoes the whole lot was terrible. If you want a good roast dinner you are better off getting a microwave roast dinner from tesco its ten times better.
Miss this resturant out until Gordon Ramsey makes a visit from kitchen nightmares!

“Poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

My visit was in the afternoon, was hardly anyone in there, but when we finally got seated and ordered our two simple drinks, it still took 7 mins. No apology for the wait. Food didn't take long. Staff I think was on minimum. Went to bar and had to wait for someone as no one was there, food was ok. Avoid afternoons.

“Good for traveller”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

I often use this restaurant when visiting Southend. Occassionally, the food is not as good, or the service is slower (I think arriving after a rush), but on the whole this is dependable. Sunday is expensive, but good value in the week and we do like a carvery and choosing our vegatables. We find the staff helpful. Car parking fine and road outside close to main routes.

“Pure rubbish”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Food was terrible the carvary was horrid, leeks undercooked potatoes burnt and not nice and crispy ( as I don't mind a bit of burnt crisp) handles were so hot I burnt my hands nothing really left but left overs in there, the carver sniffed and coughed over the food, others were making faces to their partners too about this after waiting for 15 minutes to be served, the waitress told one member of our party she couldn't have her food until everyones' mains had come out as its not their policy and even told us to slow down on eating our olives as we got 4 bowls to share and some as a starter as the other starters hasn't finished being cooked , being in the industry before myself I wouldn't never dream of telling people what to do when they've come out for meal, I found it very odd, and being charged £7 for a Florida orange 3.50 for the full glass of lemonade 1.50 for a dash of lime ( can get a bottle cheaper then that) and £2 odd for the orange ... Wouldn't recommend sorry!
