Having been to so many good tea rooms in Northumberland, we were looking forward to this visit. Being a Saturday the cafe was doing a reasonable trade and the queue reached the door. We assumed it was self service as the wait was so lengthy. There, however were plenty of empty tables which were still full of dirty dishes. After waiting for over 10 minutes to be served we were told it would be at least a 15 minute wait for 2 teas and 2 cakes! The two staff that we could see looked like extras in a zombie film, so slow and aimless were their movements. Also overpriced. The couple in front of us had 2 coffees, and a scone and cake and were charged £10.50. Needless to say we did without! As a previous commentator noted, it is high time this establishment was given some competition as is only tearoom in Craster. It can however have the title of worst cafe on the Northumbrian Coast
