This was the third part of our 7 day jungle tour, we had already spent time at Tabin wildlife resort and Borneo Lodge at Damum valley. On arrival we were given lunch, and as we don't eat meat they had prepared extra food for us, it was delicious and fortunately this carried on for the rest of our stay at the lodge the food was very good. However compared to the other places we stayed this was the worst accommodation, the room was very dated and the bathroom although functional was not pleasant to use. I am glad that we only had to spend 1 night here. The rest of the lodge was very nice, it had a lovely deck with a great array of flowers and a great view across the river, we were very well looked after and the guides very knowledgeable, George was especially friendly. We were lucky to see a lot of wildlife and the very early morning trip to the Ox Bow lake was something very special, I will remember drinking coffee from a plastic cup eating biscuits at 6:30am watching the mist rising from the river for a very long time. It was an amazing experience, with the jungle just coming to life.
We transferred from here to their sister lodge at Abai which was only accessible by river, the accommodation here was much better than Kinabatangan with large spacious rooms and lovely verandas
