Kamping Sampireun has good concepts..use boat to reach the room, eventhough there're land track.. Rooms are good, half open air bath room concept..and the sekoteng at night, serabi in the morning and floating band were very nice...the resto has variative menu,as well as the band at night..recommended for weekend getaway..

We drove to this resort from Jakarta and s tended our stay from one night to two. It's a lovely spot, great rooms, very relaxing. The services are unique with some daily surprises that added a nice touch.

We did have a caged rooster just outside our room which had a very peculiar call at all hours of the day but surprisingly reception were happy to relocate him which was nice.

We did have our visit mid week so it was probably quieter than what the weekend is.

A trip to the nearby volcano topped off the trip.

One thing that was not good- the pool was completely green and unusable. No reason or excuse was given but for the cost and for the time spent there, we would have really liked to use the pool.

We wanted a tranquil, natural, indulgent three days away from Bali. We chose Kampung Sampireun and have absolutely no regrets having done so. Beautiful lakeside room with living room (make sure you book one of these and not the hill bedrooms). Our own canoe which was fun to use. Stunning and besutifully maintiained gardens and pathways. Be warned this is a NO ALCHOHOL resort - so bring your own wine/beer. Food was a little disappointing though! Staff very friendly. Interesting 2 hour drive from Bandung airport. Would definitely recommend it - but don't expect many "western tourist" elements - this is Java at its most natural!

Room Tip: Choose lakeside room with living room

The Kampung Sampireun is a recommended place to go for honeymoon. The package is quite affordable and give value for money. Candle light dinner on top of the lake was a unique experience. Excellent spa treatment. Overall, good relaxing environment.

One drawback, however, is the long drive from/to Jakarta. It is probably better to request pick up from the resort rather than driving on your own. The traffic, narrow roads, dangerous hills, etc. may put off your excitement.

The resort is quite pricey considering the room quality. However, after you see the beautiful view and experiencing the cool breeze and fresh air, it becomes more reasonable.
The room has no air conditioner, but it's quite cool during night. You may still need a blanket in the morning. It is clean and decent.
If you bring your kids, please get your own fish food (much cheaper than buy at the resort). They will love to feed the fish.
The kids will love rowing the boat around the lake.
The restaurant is mostly serving sundanese food. They are excellent (buy ala carte).
In the morning, tea time and at night, the resort will serve snacks by the lake. They are serving from a boat to your bungalow. It is a nice experience.

Room Tip: Stay in one of their bungalows by the lake. Check with the receptionist, when they clean up the lak...

This hotel, at least during our stay, had two faces.

When we arrived in the evening, we were overwhelmded by its beauty: a small lake with around cosy little cottages with boats moored at the dock. We were welcomed with a local drink and then hoisted in a boat with our luggage and brought to our cottage (eventhough walking there would have been easier). The cottage itself was charming with a little deck to appreciate the silence and tranquility. The restaurant, a short walk up from our cottage, was also very beautiful and the food was authentic and very tasty (eventhough looking at the standard menu we received, we hadn't expected this at all). The service was good as well. BUT. We noticed that preparations were under way for an elaborate party and sure enough, not much later the music started. And continued. Since all cottages are situated at or near the lake there is no escaping the noise there, so gone were the silence and tranquility. Naturaly we complained, and the hotel staff, who obviously felt bad about it, assured us that it would end at 12. In the end the music continued untill 12.30 am and the noise from departing guests lasted another 30 minutes (most guest stayed in the resort). We finally fell asleep. But the night was short. The same guests were out on the lake around 6 o'clock screaming with joy and playing at the lake. It was a far cry from what we had expected. In hindsight, we should have been warned, because this resort is Indonesia's number 3 most popular wedding-location! In addition, for some obscure reason, the spa was closed, so swimming was also out. The hotel did compensate by offering us an inroom massage and the next night was as silent and tranquil as you can imagine. Anyway, we highly recommend that you check before booking here if an elaborate wedding is planned during your stay, because if so, you may want to find an alternative.

I went to Kampung Sampireun when I really need holiday so bad because of my work. After travels for almost 7 hours from Jakarta (pretty bad traffic in the highway) and finally arrived at Kampung Sampireun. it was totally worth it.

The clean air, the cold breeze, the beautiful sight. it makes you smile. The receptionist crew welcoming us with a very nice gesture, and we allowed to sip our hot "bandrek" first before arrange our administrator thingy.

because I felt really exhausted, I immediately book the spa, luckily they have empty room for me. The spa experienced was also incredible. their spa room is near the pool and little garden, so the sight was also beautiful, although it's a little bit chilly, because their spa rooms are made by hanging fabric like sort of traditional house. But it was VERY relaxing, the masseuses were very skillful and using high quality product too (by Mustika Ratu, one of the famous traditional spa brand in Indonesia)

My room is near the lake, the room also very cozy, the room service responses were also very quick. each room is equipped by a small boat, so you can travel around the lake at anytime. and one of the funny experience is their lake is contain a lot of big gold fish, and they are very tame, they will follow you around the lake.

Oh, and in the morning, around 9 - 10 AM, there will be a group of acoustic band that will sing to your door.

My friend and I were rent their car, so they pick us up at Jakarta and their driver was also very nice, he's so patient considering the traffic, polite, and not speeding.

One thing that bothers me is their meal taste is very very ordinary. except the floating surabi (they deliver the traditional food "surabi" to your room at 6AM), which taste good when still warm, but just ordinary when losing its heat.

Overall, I have a really great and very relaxing experience.

Room Tip: Their specialty is the lake, so rent room by lake side. Check with the receptionist, will there an...
