“Perfect dining experience just off the motorway near Genova”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We stopped on our way back from Florence to Menton in France having found Da O'Vittorios in the Michelin Guide. Not even 5 minutes from the Motorway exit - perfect! Great Italian cooking. The interior was full of originality and charm - even had it's own old English red phone box! Staff really attentive and a free post dinner Camogli speciality of chocolate and rum! I'd highly recommend to eat here if you're passing.

“The Recco gastronomy at the best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Recco is often considered as the capital of the Liguria gastronomy, at least for the "Riviera di Levante" (the coast at the east of Genoa). Well, that might be true, and certainly O'Vittorio represent a peak of this tradition: a historical restaurant, opened many many years ago, that has maintained a stainless style and unchanged quality. The food is simply excellent, and it reflects the best of the local gastronomy: focaccia di Recco that melts in your mouth (don't miss the "Pizzata"), traditional vegetarian Ligurian appetizers rich of flavours, the best "pansotti" in the area, excellent seafood - both the classic "Fritto misto" as well as the local "bagnun" of anchovies and tomato, and a number of other dishes both reflecting the local history and a few modern preparation, as well as the "evergreen" often requested by the Milanese visitors, owners of apartments on the coast. You have to keep in mind that this is somewhat an old fashioned restaurant, where the substance, i.e. the food is everything. The service is like fifty years ago, professional, very friendly and with no frills, the location is on a busy road, not really enjoyable. The restaurant has a very classical style, very simple with dark wood furniture acceptable but not really classy, everything but modern or stylish, but the impression is surprisingly enjoyable. There is a terrace in the top floor, open in summer: beware the menu is reduced there, I definitely prefer the classical dining rooms at the ground floor.

“excellent home-made regional dishes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

If it is authentic Italian food your after then this is the place to eat in. I have eaten there several times and every time the food was very good, their foccacia is the best I have ever had. It is friendly and the service is excellent.
Their hotel room are very nice and comfortable.

“BEST ITALIAN FOOD”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

So far the tastiest Italian food in the fifth trip to this country. A little hard to find but well worth the effort.
They import from Canada the special wheat they use and the local delicious special cheese in their out of this world PIZZA. Exceptional salad and dishes.

Service is excellent and friendly. They do not seem to gouge tourists. The value is exceptional. They are Michelin restaurant but most menu prizes are exceptionally reasonable at 10-13 Euro. The most expensive being 25 Euro for the Gamberoni di Santa Margherita Liguri & 22 Euro each for the Scallop w/ Foie Gras & San Pietro Orata, Marone o pagello; 13 Euro for fried cod or zuppa ai frutti di mare.

Over all this is an umami experience not to be missed.
