“Private, beautiful & amazing views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

We stayed at villa damai for a lovely 4 nights, it was just amazing! Our villa had a private pool overlooking the surf breaks. Of all the island I believe this spot is one of the best! A few SMALL downsides- no air con, no wifi, had to use mosquito net, plus I didn't like the shower as water went everywhere. BUT I would reccomend anyone to stay here! The staff endra & kecha were great & always helpful, plus they kept the place very clean! This is paradise!

We have just returned from Nusa Lembongan where we stayed at 'The Villas Lembongan'. Our booking was for 7 nights at Villa Aman. When we arrived we were met by Roger down on the beach who organised the porters (all ladies) to take our bags up to the villa Rp50,000, as the representative from the villa was not there to meet us. When we arrived at the villa we met Endra who was very apologetic as there had been a mistake with our booking and he was very concerned that we would make a complaint. Hey we were on holidays and had just arrived in paradise, so there were no problems. We stayed in Villa Damai for one night while our friends had to stay at "Playgrounds" - more about that later.

Villa Damai was just gorgeous and had everything you would need to make a beautiful holiday. It was very well appointed with modern conveniences, tea & coffee provided and a well stocked mini bar (family size fridge). This villa only sleeps 2.

The next morning while we were out having breakfast and exploring, Endra & Kecho packed up our stuff and moved us over to Villa Aman.

This villa is a split level 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with a lovely living area, kitchen and the most amazing views over the surf break to Kintamani. Whilst Villa Aman is a little tired and dated (we were told that the owners were keen to sell it and didn't want to spend any money), it was reasonable and good value for your $$. There was an issue with the hot water (very intermitent) but it always gave us something to talk about & a good laugh. We were a bit concerned about the lack of security - the safe was a cupboard in the bedroom which could easily be opened with a knife but after spending a week here, we realised that the security was the actual locals, who never missed a thing. This villa is not air conditioned but it wasn't a problem for us in May. The ceiling fans and sea breeze did a very good job.
Kecho & Endra were there every morning to do their chores restock the fridge and to make sure we were comfortable.
The beautiful plunge pool out the front was wonderful to cool off in and admire the view, my only complaint - 2 sundbeds, 4 people??
Restaurants are plentiful on the island but make sure you go to Jibaku down the mangrove end. Only recently opened, it's well worth the trip and they will pick you up and drop you home. Endra & Kecho can organise this for you.
These Villas are down the front so there are minimal stairs to climb, although you would have to think twice if you are in any way immobile.
All in all a great stay but I think with a little TLC this place would be AAA+++

Room Tip: Villas at the front of Lembongan are easily accessible. Make sure you don't end up at the top w...

We stayed 5 nights at Villa Santi (lower floor with AC)

Firstly,
The Good- Spectacular views, Having been to Lembongan several times prior to this, i knew that location was perfect. There are several restaurants within walking distance. 2 Great sunbeds on the veranda and a cold fridge stocked with Bintangs was lovely. The 2 local guys who cleaned were more than helpful!

However,

The Ugly- Firstly, Very little hot water, i'm talking one warm shower for 5 mins over 5 nights. The pool was so dirty, you could not see the bottom. The water was slime green. IT WAS DISCUSTING. The guys had no answer for it and LOADED it with chlorine. We jumped in half a dozen times for 10-15 secs to try and cool off. The chlorine was unbearable and it was as warm as a cup of tea. On the second last day the boys informed us that would could no longer use the pool because they were going to put acid in to clear the slime green water. UNACCEPTABLE.

The Villa, is more a room with a small camping stove. We were looking forward to cooking a meal one night, we bought a tuna from the market but the cooking equipment was rusty old and garbage. Embarrassing actually.

When we arrived there was a lovely big bed with stained linen. (We didn't complain, it was three or 4 small marks) However, not once in 5 nights was the linen changed nor were we offered fresh linen.

I booked with Diane (Claimed owner- But cleaning guys said she is the manager??) over the phone a day before our arrival. We Paid 750,000/night, the asking price is over 1M/night. For our 750/night we could have stayed somewhere better, maybe ware ware or bay hut bungalows? Diane lives right next door to the villas, but she couldnt manage to even come and introduce herself to her guests.

It seemed that the owners/manager had lost interest.

There are several better places in close proximity.
However the view and location is spectacular. Definitely NOT worth the asking price per night.

We stayed in Villa Santi which was an AC Villa with a private plunge pool and awesome views. While my partner went surfing at Playgrounds - Litterally right in front of the Villas I just lazed on the sunbeds and read and had Bintangs. Although there are quiet a few stairs to get up to Villa Santi its definitley worth it. Every morning we went down to the little cafe warung hanging over the water and there a few places to choose from on the hill stretch for dinner.
The two young male staff members walked down to the beach to gett us and carry our big surfboard bag and suitcase up the hill. They were so lovley and helpful!!
There is no ATM on the island so bring cash. We hired scooters and rode to Mushroom and Dream beach for swims, went snorkelling in the mangorves which was beautiful and rode went over to the other island Pedina for an explore.
The view is amazing !!! I just loved where we stayed we will definitley be back !!!

Room Tip: Villa santi- Best View

We stayed at Villa Aman in July. Views were excellent! The only 2 problems were we had no hot water the whole time we were there, just a trickle every now and then. The owner was not around the entire time we were there and basically they needed a new pump or something to be replaced. Even when that was we still really didn't have any hot water. The other was that the power went out 2 nights during our stay. The hotel next door had their own generator so they were fine.
Nusa Lembongan was great and now they do yoga at the Secret Garden Cottages and that was fantastic!

Room Tip: Our Villa was at the front so can't go wrong with the view.

We spent 4 nights in Villa Dami and really enjoyed our stay. The owner had arranged the boat transfer from Sanur for us which was great and the staff were waiting on the beach when we arrived on the island to carry our bags. The villa was large consisting of an open plan sitting area and kitchenette. There was also a bedroom with mosquito net over the bed and bathroom.

Outside there was a private plunge pool, sun loungers, table and chairs and covered platform with mattresses to lie on. The view from villa was amazing as we were the nearest property to the sea we had uninterrupted views straight down to the sea.

The staff were great and came every day to clean the villa and were also able to answer any questions we had.

There are a number of restaurants near to the villa, we especially liked going to the hotel on the left, just a few steps away, for breakfast in the morning.

While on the island we hired a bike and spent the day driving around the island, visiting a beach (Dream Beach), we also walked along a costal path on the left from the villa to Mushroom Beach, which was lovely for swimming in. However, we spent most the time lying on the loungers at our villa.

Room Tip: Villa Dami is the closest to the sea, it has a double bed

The Villas on Lembongan was a great choice for a well earned break from work as a Manager in the industry. The views are supberb and the service from "Kecho" our host was fantastic. It made our holiday better just to see his welcoming smile each day and the quality of his servicing our room was of international standard. The private plunge pool was perfect for a quick cool down after being in the sun all day. The Villas were also very close to some great surf spots which you can assess 1st thing in the morning from your room with the binoculars provided. Wiould certainly stay here again.
