“Stumbled at the beginning the. Smooth all the way”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

Me , my husband and my husband's mother stay there for 2 nights . We go by a "slow boat" ( a public boat ) from Sanur port . Very affordable 80k , around 1hr30min trip per person , but you need more courage to get On Into this boat. There's speed boat , around 175k , 20 to 30 min trip.
We booked via agoda , by the time we arrive they welcomed us very nicely , welcome drink served. After around 15min , we're still waiting for our room and I was thinking something must've gone wrong . They told us that there has been a booking mistake ( we paid for 2 room , but the booking is only for 1 room ) and the hotel was full at that moment . So the manager propose me and my husband to stay at the next door villa ( his uncle's villa ) , but advise to use the facilities on the bay shore huts . Honestly , his uncle villa was a little bit weird for me , especially the dark bathroom. The second day we get our room , and during the stay my mother in law get upgrade to deluxe.
The Bat Shore hotel for us was very nice , clean room , natural style , outdoor bright bathroom , good food , good service . The one thing that they should pay attention more is the booking arrangement.

The hotel is at a great location, right by the sea on Tamarind 'beach' (which isn't much of a beach at high tide). The rooms are nice and exotic (no tv in the regular rooms, but who cares). However, we couldn't avail their upgrade to the deluxe suite, as it had the same small split air conditioner that their regular rooms had and wasn't powerful enough to adequately cool the larger room. The bathrooms are open air (!) but that isn't as bad as it sounds. They're pretty cool once you get used to the notion.

Their service, however, did leave something to the imagination. Our boat from Bali proper dropped us off at Jungut Batu beach nearby with our luggage, which was a lot (they should have advised us not to bring so much), and the island had no taxis for transporting it to the hotel. They did have us picked up from (and dropped off to) jungut batu beach by boat, but we had to pay for it.

Checking out was a pain, as they did not know that we had already paid for our stay via booking.com, and had trouble understanding us when we tried to explain that to them with our online receipts as proof. They also had trouble understanding us when we asked them to book our boat back to jungut batu beach. Unlike the more cosmopolitan and professional hotels in Bali proper, they have communication issues, and cannot interact adequately in English. This is rather odd given the large number of English speaking guests at the Hotel ....

Their food was okay, but not that great. The view of mount agung from their restaurant was mind-blowingly awesome, though. The ambience of the hotel is right out of the movies, and is memorable in on itself.

Room Tip: Don't bother with the 'sea view' rooms. The hotel is right next to the bay, and the wate...

We booked two nights at the Bay Shore Huts on Nusa Lembongan in June 2013 based on Trip Advisor reviews. When we arrived, we were informed that the hotel had been overbooked and we would be moved to the hotel next door Tamarind Beach - which is a less expensive hotel. We spent one night in the Tamarind Beach hotel which was quite nice, although there was a funky water smell in the room. We chose a second story room because the view of Tamarind Bay was nicer (and since we had booked an ocean view room at Bay Shore Huts). The next day, we were offered the chance to move to Bay Shore huts - but the room we were offered did not have an ocean view room - you were actually looking at the side of the restaurant - and was actually smaller than the room we had at Tamarind Beach. So, we opted to stay at Tamarind Beach for both nights. We had to do some negotiating at checkout to ensure that our stay was discounted since the Tamarind hotel was less expensive. I would advise getting this sorted out up front and in writing before agreeing to move to the other hotel.

All that said, the pool at Tamarind Beach was quiet and nice, the staff was very helpful, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. I guess I should write a review of that hotel as well!

This Hotel is so small and cute it feels like you are renting an apartment in a small community. The staff are so relaxed and friendly that they feel like friends rather than people doing a service job. Its a great base from which to do your water activities and Lembongan exploration. The rooms are really small but they have what you really need. A good bed, AC and clean shower and bath. The food can be really good or really average, the trick is to not eat anything not actually from Indonesian cuisine! (some people still insist on ordering a burger from Bali for some reason) They can also cook whatever you catch or buy from the local fishermen and they do a pretty damn good job at that too. Free wifi is available but it will only really work for emails and messaging and browsing. If you are doing anything else on the internet while you are there you should leave Bali immediately because you are missing the point!

We booked with Booking.com price $78.00 per night including breakfast.
Check in was very smooth ,we arrived early and did not have to wait for our Hut .
We stayed in Hut no 7 ,although it was set back we did have a lovely view of mount Agung.
The room was lovely ,small and simply furnished, clean with a large very comfy bed with a mossie net.limited hanging space for clothes ,no fridge safety deposit box or kettle.
The Patio had a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the lovely view.
The bathroom was outdoor with plenty of hot water and clean towels.
Breakfast was very good ,we only stayed 2 nights so ate all our meals in the restaurant, and
They were all good and well priced .We did have annoying flies though.
The gardens around the Huts are beautiful .
The pool is lovely but there are not enough sun beds .
The staff were all wonderful, very friendly and helpful .
We found it to be a very relaxing stay and would def stay again ,we would like to stay longer next time.

Room Tip: We liked hut 7 it was set back but we still had a lovely view and it was more private than the Huts...

We stayed one night in the garden huts and then were upgraded to two nights in the ocean view huts. We Swam in both pools which were both fantastic.I had a pedicure and manicure done here and we both had massages which were great. We hired a scooter from Bay shore huts to explore the island. The staff were lovely and the manager was fantastic. There is no question about it we will be back to stay here again. The food was fantastic at the restaurant and they catered for my boyfriend who is allergic to gluten. The only one small fault we could find which was as others have stated here the orange juice is very syrupy but pineapple juice e.t.c is lovely

Room Tip: We had room number 3 ocean view. Which looks directly out over pool and ocean doesnt get better than...

Like the others on here, we also had a "booking mix up" as did two other couples we met during our 3 night stay at Bay Shore Huts. They tried to say we only had 2 nights not 3 nights booked despite me having the printed copy of the booking and email correspondence with the manager (which luckily I had printed). I cracked it when we arrived and told them that we wouldn't move rooms so they agreed to let us stay for 3 nights without moving us. One couple we met couldn't stay at all even though they'd paid for 5 nights up front through Expedia. We also hired a scooter and they tried to make us pay to fix a crack in the foot rest despite the fact that the scooter was old and crummy, barely started, had no mirrors and had seen better days. We also didn't have hot water for 2 days until I complained. Otherwise, the staff were mostly friendly enough, the breakfast was OK, the pool is the best part of the whole place - an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The rooms were really nice so it was a pity that the booking mix up tainted our trip here. We stayed in Villa 8 at the back where the workmen started before 8am every morning. Not so bad except one evening I went to have a shower in the outdoor bathroom and there was a man on the roof that could look straight into my bathroom while I was naked. Also a strong warning: if they try to move you to the Tamarind Beach Bunaglows next door make sure you only pay the room rate of Tamarind as this is half of what Bay Shore Huts is and they'll try to make you pay full price. I was checking out at the same time as another couple who they tried to charge $80 for the Tamarind when it should have been $40. It is a little far from everything else but only a 10 minute walk to Mushroom bay.

Room Tip: Villa 8 is nice and spacious, has air con, a fridge and a TV. However there is work being done behin...
