“Must have been nice when it was new.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012 via mobile

All in all nice hotel but not very well maintained. The room we stayed in was ok, very nice view but not very clean. Bathtub and toilet were not clean when we arrived and especially the mosquito net could use some washing. There were a lot of stains and dead mosquitoes on top of it. The pool area was quite nice but they should get rid of the umbrellas, they were broken and completely covered in mould. No one wants to lie underneath them as you can see in the pictures. Food at the hotel also disappointing, I would recommend walking down to the beach and up the stairs on the right, there are mainy nice and good restaurants. Breakfast is included but for eggs you pay extra. I would not go there again, they just don't seem to take care of the hotel enough.

Family of 4 we stayed in adjoining rooms. second highest cottage. 55 big steps from top to bottom, so no god if you have bad knees, but the view was spectacular! On the trip from boat to hotel we worried that we were miles away from anything, but a quick 2 minute walk down to the beach and follow the path for about 400m and you have a great range of cafe and restaurants to choose from. Better still it has its own little beach. Villa arranged our snorkleing trip and our scooter hire. No pressure to do these activitites- but very helpful when we asked. Love this place- we stayed three nights - wish it was longer!

Our rooms were very bright, airy and clean and we also found the pool clean- but agree the pool umbrellas were a little thread bare

As the name suggests , the villa's are located a bay around from the main strip and rise up the cliff side . The rooms are spacious , clean and well appointed (No TV but good wi-fi) . Steps are steep and plentiful here so perhaps not so great for young children on the higher levels and your legs will get a workout if you venture from your room to the attractive pool often. The views are worth the exercise and its just a quick walk down a steep driveway to the beach. To the sure of foot, an interesting goats path winds its way left of the beach to the next bay wth many a surprise and photo oportunity along the way. The resturants are located a brief 5 minute walk away where you must catch a sunset with a drink . The bathrooms are clean and simple . The breakfast is pleasant with Pineapple Jam and toast , fruit and banana pancakes as choices along side local food. Its delightlfully peaceful here at night except for the odd group of clowns setting off fireworks on the beach while we were there. The staff were excellent and could not help enough. I recommend letting the organise a driver to take you t the isalnd highlights such as Paradise Point, Dream Bay, the Underground house etc. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The higher rooms have great views, the lower rooms suit the young and elderly.

stayed here for 3 nights in july.
very helpful staff
clean and well kept rooms
good food
a great experience overall
will stay there again!
well priced
staff organized a mini tour of the island which was well worth it, and much better than hiring a motorbike as we saw all the best beaches and attractions.

The experience at the villas was above expectation. I was in room one on the lowest level and it was very spacious and had the new clean look about it. The other rooms were located above on the sloping cliff and it was about 84 steps to the top rooms. The bathroom was typical Balinese style and half exposed to the sky with more than ample space. The air conditioned room was always cool and shared with a few gecko's who liked wander around the ceiling.
The staff were always pleasant and willing to help with questions and general conversation. The main strip on the bay was only 10 minutes walk away and the only issue with the place which is not really an issue except the short walk down to the beach is at 45 degrees and the trip back gives the calves a good workout.
The pool was always inviting and plenty of room for all the guests. I can't comment on the food as generally we always eat outside of our accommodation.
I stayed there with my 3 brothers and a friend and there were no complaints from any of us. The price was US62 a night and it was worth the money.

Lembongan Cliff Villas is set off the beaten track overlooking the beautiful beach with an amazing view of Mount Aygung. As far as location and privacy - it really couldn’t get much better. The food here is also really good (despite being hesitant to try at first) and we found the pizza and banana pancakes to be amazing! To top it all off the staff her are also more than happy to help with any of your questions or needs - unfortunately though there is a BUT!!
The general cleaning and maintenance of the villas and pool area is really lacking! There is mould and slim growing in the shower, the top of the mosquito net had massive stains on it, the sheets and towels had dirty marks on them, the bathmat wasn't changed once during our stay, the pool umbrellas are literally covered in mould, the tiles in the pool are all slimy and to top it off the circuit in out villa kept breaking so our power would continually cut out!! Luckily we chose not to let these things ruin our trip, but if you are like me and enjoy a high level of cleanliness then I would certainly think twice before booking here.

Our family of five recently spent 5 nights at the Cliff Villas and loved every minute of it. We stayed in the two bed villa and found it to be fantastic - beautiful beds, lots of room, excellent wi-fi access, great air cond, clean and we got to wake up each morning to the most sensational view of the ocean/surf breaks from our bed. Yes there are a few stairs to go up but none of us (including the children) had any difficulty with them and it's a great way to keep a bit fit and make room for the terrific food. The pool area was also great and we really enjoyed the day and night swims. The service at the Villa's was outstanding. Komane and his team were incredibly friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcome. The villas are located just above Coconut Beach which is a great little area in front of the Playgrounds surf area. I'd also highly recommend the snorkelling trips as the scenery and range of fish/coral was fantastic. We arranged this through Komane at the hotel (great price) and Ketut who took us out on the two different days was just brilliant. Overall Lembongan Island is a magnificent place and a great escape from the chaos of Kuta.
