“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2009

We went to Bali for our honeymoon and as we had spent soooo much money on our wedding didn't do our normal amount of trips however we did splurge on a 1 night trip to Lembongan, friends had recommended it (especially the underwater walking).

To some peoples annoyance we were part of the daily boat trip group but for our luck we got to stay the night and must admit it was extremely peaceful once the day trip boats had gone. We paid an extra $15 to stay in a beach front hut which was worth every penny.

The location is amazing, we hired bicycles from the resort but didn't see much of the island. We also hired a kayak and went out in to the bay. Mushroom bay alone was incredible enough. The huts are basic but the view is incredible, the best part was going to bed with the curtains open and seeing the lights across the bay and then waking up in the morning to the sound of the waves crashing.

For us this was incredible however we didn't experience much of the island or the resort so can not really comment on that. We had dinner at the restaurant on the end of the bay and watched an amazing sunset. I'm not sure there would have been alot to do if we had stayed longer than 1/2 nights unless you really did just want to relax.
(tip - I got a little sea sick travelling there, remember pills or just stand outside on the deck for the duration).

We stayed here for three nights whilst diving in Nusa. The hotel is located out of the 'town' on a gorgeous beach. It is not difficult to access by motorbike or even walking by the seaside (30min), which offers great views. The huts are compact and simple but tasteful and comfortable and the whole place is really relaxed and well kept.
The bathrooms are communal but we never had trouble finding one and there are really beautiful with open air showers. not handy only if you need to wee in the middle of the night!
There are couple of other restaurants on the same beach if you don't fancy eating at the hotel and anyway is not difficult to reach the town or other hotels.
The hotel includes the use of a pontoon where there is some snorkel, tobogan and the slowest ever banana boat - patroned mainly by japanese tourists.
There is better value to be found on the island ($99/room) but this is nevertheless a very nice place.

The place is beautiful but just to spend the day in there and go back to Bali. So I think the best option is to have a day-cruise.
We decided to spend the last 3 nights of our journey. Because of our flight time we could not take the Bali Hai cruise (too late) and the sales representant Budi Artini booked another boat (Scoot)departing early for us.
When we arrived, to our surprise, mr Sujana from reception informed us this booking was not made and there was no place any more on the boat. After a while he came back to us and told us there was place for 2 people and that the booking was already made but the Scoot boat departs from another port and that we had to pay 100000 rupiah for the transfer.
We did not see the situation very clear and were afraid of losing our 3 flight back home so we decided to leave 1 day before and spend the last night in Kuta o Tuban, near the airport.
When we notified the about this, another receptionist tried to persuade us to stay, offering us the Scoot boat possibility and their free of charge transfer!!!!! What about the 100000 rupiah charge mr Sujana talked????
This was the last detail we needed to go.
After coming home the sales representant mr Budi Artini admitted that it was his mistake but he refused to give us back the money of the last night we did not stay with them.
This way of working should not be acceptable anywhere. I work as a travel agent so I know quite a lot about dealing with people and assuming mistakes.
About the accomodation I have to say the rooms are to small and the roof and walls are quite dirty. The bathroom are ok and also the restaurant for dinner. However the breakfast buffet and the BBQ lunch on arrival are awful.
The beach is not sandy everywhere so you walk on stones almost all the time and the bay is full of boats so taking a bath is not relaxing at all. During the day the beach is crowed with the gusts who spend the day on the Bali Hai cruises.
I would not recommend this place to anyone at all, neither for their treatment, nor for the accomodation level.

The huts are cute, but the location on Mushroom bay is what really makes the difference! The island is beautifully quiet once the day trip guests leave - which is why I gave this place 'only' 4 stars instead of 5 - which enjoy the premises from 10.30-3pm. Can't wait to go back!!
