“Awesome stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

This is a very affordable stay. Our room was very large and full of antiques! It was absolutely gorgeous and the owner was very nice and helpful. We had a kitchen for our personal use and breakfast was held in a beautiful room.

A true Bed & Breakfast! A mansion from the 1800's filled with era antiques. Madame Myriam resembles a mother hen tending after her flock. My wife and I stayed in room 3 in second floor, almost an additional room as it has a loft, very good size. Wi-fi worked great, cable TV had several international channels. Breakfast room delightful, good selection of items. Very moderately priced.

Room Tip: No elevator so stay no higher than second floor.

We were very pleased with this B&B. Our room (#4) was very large with a bedroom, separate sitting room, bathroom and small kitchenette. It had a large window in the bedroom facing the garden (i.e. the back of the building) which was very private. There was a small flat screen TV with about 30 channels including a few in English but the reception was poor - definitely not HD and probably not digital. The bathroom was a bit small - shower, toilet and small sink - but modern with nice tile. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast with a good selection of breads, cheese, some fruit, yogurt, etc. and good coffee from a single-serving machine. The hotel is nicely decorated with a lot of plants, art and other objects from around the world. It is in a nice area - we felt comfortable walking back to the B&B after dark. There is a metro station just around the corner and if you enjoy walking the centre of the old city, Grand Place, was only about a 20 - 30 minute walk. The lady who runs it is a bit quirky about her rules but is very nice. She speaks French, Spanish and English very well (not sure if she speaks other languages). We enjoyed meeting other guests from various countries at the large dining table. Overall we found it to be excellent value compared to other hotels and B&B's in that area.

We booked other B&B in the area but because of the family situation of the owner we had to spend one night in this hotel.
The area where it is situated is really convenient. It is only 10min walk to the train station Brussels south and to the city center. There are some good places to eat in the neighborhood and fancy shopping street is just 5 min walk from hotel. We really like walking, so this area was just perfect. For people who are less mobile there is a metro station 5 min walk from hotel.
We really loved the interior and the style of this hotel. It is small and cosy. You can really see that the owner of hotel really put time and energy to decorate it with love. We got a room on the top floor. The time when we visited Brussels was very hot. We had some trouble sleeping that night because of the heat but I guess it wasn't a fault of hotel.
The room itself was very charming, decorated in old style with beautiful elements. The bed was just awful! It made a lot of sounds and it wasn't comfy at all! Next to that, there were a lot of carpets, pillows and blankets everywhere and my husband got a terrible allergy attack that day (he is allergic to dust) that lasted till the end of our trip. It was terrible for our romantic weekend.
The cleaning of the room could be better. In the bathroom the lamp next to the mirror was just covered with dust.
The breakfast area downstairs was just gorgeous. It looked like a museum to me. Very pretty. The breakfast itself was also great with fresh croissants, bread, fresh fruit.. Yammy. Only coffee wasn't that good.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to less mobile guests. There a lot of steep stairs and if you have a lot of baggage it is not very convenient.
All in all, beautiful place but we wouldn't return there next time.

My husband and I and a friend stayed at the hotel recently. I had read all the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. My husband and I had the split level room with a great kitchenette. The décor was amazing as the hotel is absolutely bursting with charm. The hotel is very well located as you can easily reach train stations and metros. There are also many great restaurants near by. We always enjoyed our breakfasts with the hot croissants and chocolate bread. If I ever get a chance to come back to Brussels, this is where I will stay.

"Les Bluets" is a hidden jewel I discovered 20 years ago, and every time I return to Brussels, there is no doubt where I go to stay. It is only 20 minutes by foot ( 5 by taxi, 10 by metro) from Gare du Midi , where the Eurostar arrives, and only 15 minutes by metro and a short walk from the metro from the Central Station, in a quartier that has much mixed local colour, with an excellent Italian restaurant a minutes walk away, and only 7minutes walk from Louise Avenue, a broad upmarket street of top shops and apartments. The owner, Madame Myriam, runs the bijoux hotel in a friendly, but very efficient, fashion, in her quixotic mix of art deco, with many delightful personal touches, including masses of beautiful greenery hanging from the roof over the staircase and pants in all rooms. The breakfast room is a real charm, with a big round table, and a smaller side table, around which guests enjoy a generous mixed breakfast of breads, spreads, jams, cheeses, yogurts, fresh fruits, juices, eggs on request and as much tea, coffee and croissants as you want. My recent breakfast was shared with 2 Finns, and a Danish and French lady. On my previous visit I breakfasted with a Japanese girl. The rooms are spacious, light and spotless. Always.
And if the hotel proves too popular, Myriam's charming daughter-in-law runs another lovely small hotel just 3 minutes walk away, on the main ring road, but delightfully furnished and spacious inside.
And despite its location, it is quiet inside too. I highly recommend both excellent hotels.

I had a wonderful week end revisiting Bruxelles and this hotel was the icing on the cake. This hotel is a traditional Northern European home from days gone by, the rooms had incredibly high ceilings and are beautifully finished.

The hostess, Myriam, is welcoming and very accommodating.

The room was (quirky) beautifully furnished , clean, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was nicely finished and clean (which is very important to me). There was a wide selection of food for (continental) breakfast which tasted amazing. In my eyes, that's all of the essentials covered.

We stayed on the top floor of the hotel with no lift, which can be hard work (especially after midnight and a couple of belgian beers) (remember the incredible high ceilings I was talking about). For those with disabilities there is a working stair lift mind you.

In terms of location, the centre of town is only a few metro stops away, so very handy and 2 Metro stops to the Gare du midi (for those of you coming via the Eurostar). The taxi from town was €12.00 (which we took after midnight).
