“An adequate stay but not 4*”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2010

This hotel is in a nice part of Brussels. It isn't in the centre but is within walking distance, if you are used to walking. About 20 - 30 minutes from the centre. However there are places to eat and drink away from the centre. The metro is close and easy to use.

There was a clean bed and hot water. Breakfast was shabby, 3 choices for cooked breakfast - sausage / potatoe and scambled egg. was not to standard of a 4* star, although there was enough to eat - with croissants / toast and fruit.

We paid a trip price with a coach company, so was good value, but I would not pay full price for this hotel and be satified. 320 euros a night is expensive for the standard, and I wouldnot recommend paying that price for this hotel. If you can get a cheap deal for half the price it is not a bad stay - but don't pay over the ods and expect a better class than this hotel is.

Only spent a night here during our recent European driving holiday. The hotel is slightly out of the city centre, but a tram stop 150m away allows one to gain easy access into the city. Lots of nice eateries nearby so we didn't try the in-house restaurants. Secure car park behind the hotel accessed by an entrance at the side of the hotel. 14 euros a night, which is reasonable in order to ensure your car is safe. We had limited involvement with the hotel staff, the little contact we did have was greeted with polite & efficient service.

I have stayed in many different hotels as I work abroad a lot and I can honestly say this comes as one of the worst hotels I have stayed in.

The service is appaling, the staff are very unwelcoming and cannot manage a smile.

The bedrooms are dirty and smell of cigarette smoke. The running water was stone cold and this was apparently acceptable according the hotel staff. I ordered room service they sent it to the wrong room TWICE, an hour and a half later my food turned up. I could go on.......... but take my advice and do not stay here, this is nothing more than a 2 star hotel and ridiculously overpriced.

I am impressed by the location and the rooms were clean and all the facilities are what you will expect for a 3 star hotel. The hotel is undergoing an upgrade due to change of brand name which caused a lot of problems during check in. The hotel lobby is small for the number of rooms in the hotel likewise the lifts are small and the noise from the trams and car traffic make sleeping difficult. The beds are very comfortable and our connecting rooms was ideal. The location of the hotel is very close to the shopping streets of Louise and it is recommended to walk (20min) from the hotel to the Grand place and you will walk past all the designer shops on the way. Internet connection cost 10 euro per day and car parking is 14 euro per day. The food in the hotel is overpriced and the nearby restaurants are better value

I stayed at this hotel In January when it was a Holiday Inn and am here again. The hotel has a bit more run down when I last stayed but seem to have gone down hill further since changing to a Macure on 1 April nice new signs though. Last week I received a confirmation from the hotel branded Holiday Inn but that was 6 weeks after they changed brands. Had I known I would have cancelled and booked at the other Holiday Inn in town. I feel that the hotel has been dishonest in not informing booked guests that they have changed brands, clearly I am not the only one as I have heard many people in the lobby saying they thought they were staying at a Holiday Inn.

The rooms is nowhere near as clean an even though it is meant to be none smoking the room stinks of stale cigarette smoke.

Internet access is still €10 in the room but free on wifi in the lobby.
