“Sensibly priced hotel reasonably close to the centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The hotel was comfortable and its proximity to the Eurostar terminal makes it an ideal base to locate yourself as its close to the Metro and within walking distance to the Grand Place. Food was of good quality

stayed here last july 2012, staff is courteous, friendly, and helpful. rooms are very clean, although they just joined two twin beds instead of a double bed as per room request. would still recommend to friends.

If you are looking for a no-nonsense, conveniently located hotel for doing business in Brussels that also satisfies picky travel budget scrutiny, this is a fine choice. Sitting right next to the Brussels Midi/ Brussels Zuid (be aware of the maddening two-language naming conventions and signage throughout Brussels) train station, it's a short convenient train ride from the airport. Brussels Midi is also a Metro station, so accessing most of the city is convenient, cheap, and during rush hour traffic, quick. Be sure to pack euro coins for Metro ticket machines, the daily six euro pass is a good bet. My trip included a stop in The Hague up north - Brussels Midi yet again is a hub for Intercity train travel, very convenient. With low nightly rates, you encounter the usual nickle and diming like charging for Internet access, but the front desk said this is changing soon in the lobby. The hotel restaurant RBG is nice; a cheaper option is the small grocery store just up the street (delicious croissant in bins in the back!), especially for bottled water for the room. Or there is a cafe just outside the hotel courtyard with a good petit dejeuner breakfast for five euros with coffee, croissant, and OJ. The train station itself has a wide variety of shops, including another small Carrefours grocery (directly across from a currency exchange), cafes, bookstore, several Belgian chocolate shops, and more. Lastly, the hotel had a very nice, small gym/ workout room on the seventh floor (reached by stair from the sixth floor) overlooking the nearby rooftops. If you need things really quiet, avoid the interior courtyard facing rooms; smokers sitting at tables below late in the evening can be noisy. Overall: clean, modern, well priced, convenient, good gym, recommended.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms can be noisy at night.

This is a comfortable, well priced, no frills hotel. The big plus is that it just outside the south entrance of the Gare du Midi station, so you can step straight off the late Eurostar train from London into your accomodation. Didn't try breakfast. Would recommend for an overnight stop.

Particularly good value for Brussels, a city of expense account politicians and businessmen. If you're arriving from the Eurostar or elsewhere into the Gare du Midi, you'll find the hotel entrance almost immediately outside the entrance.

Spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds and higher than usual standards for Belgium, though pretty normal for the Park Inn, a decent chain in my experience.

The hotel offers car parking in a secure underground garage, accessible via an autoelevator from street level. WARNING! If you have a particularly large vehicle, check with the hotel for the dimensions of the autolift. Your car may not fit inside it.

I stayed at this hotel from 8th-12th Octber, 2012. The hotel itself was very clean, the staff were very good. Breakfast was poor with limited choice, although fresh food was available. There was no jam for the bread on two of the days, the coffee machine was difficult to use. There was very little room for manouvre in the dining room and it appeared squashed in. It is very convenient to the railway/metro station. The down side was that we were continually warned about the poor area by the locals - don.t wear jewellery, watches etc when going out of the hotel at night. HOWEVER nothing adverse happened to us. The bedroom was big and, being on the side, quiet. The coffee/milk sachets were minimal but more were readily given on request - but should you have to ask for more? There was no wardrobe, only a hanging rail, and no drawers so had to use the suitcase. This was a drawback and, I must say, I expected more for the money for this aspect. Plenty of hot water and the card used in the lift was an excellent idea.
It was an O.K. hotel but nothing to rave over. It would also appear to be cheaper to just turn up than to book in advance - if you want to risk this.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the corner of the hotel as it is a quiet location, no one can pass and there is no...
