“A great hotel near to European Parliament”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

We got a cab from Brussels Midi station upon arrival as it was not easy to find clear instructions online how to get to the hotel upon arrival in Brussels.

First impressions of the hotel were very good and the check in staff were very friendly and willing to help with any advice needed.

The room was a nice size had twin beds as requested (not always the case elsewhere) was very clean and comfortable for our short stay.

We had breakfast on the first day ( on offer of €25 for both of us, discounted from €25 each). The choice and quality were perfectly nice, but even discounted slightly overprice and we found a great place just around the corner on Luxembourg Square which was more reasonable.

It was easy and safe to walk into the city centre from the hotel. It took about 15 mins by foot and was an interesting walk with plenty to see on the way.

The gym and pool were nice and free to use for residents of the hotel. Wi-Fi was free to use in the reception area and there were seats that could be used while using this.

Overall a really nice hotel in a great location for our 4 day stay.

There were many wrong things during my stay (5 days) in this hotel. We needed some little items to be frozen overnight so we could take some medication around while doing tourism or travelling (as it is required several times during the day). We only managed to get it frozen one of the nights despite endless discussions with the receptionists (the 4th one, strange enough, the 5th time it was again unfrozen. This is the first time something like this happens to us in a hotel in 30 years! The most inconvenient thing is that the receptionist didn't warn us even when we told them that keeping the meds cool was critical!
On top of that, some of the staff is really rude and arrogant and make you feel like if you were an annoyance or inconvenience for them. The weekend head waiter had very bad manners towards my parents and the waiters made disrespectful comments about the customers in the middle of the dinning room. (On the other side, there is an Egyptian waiter that is really nice and helpful).
Overall, the hotel is a complete disaster, my room didn't have the 3rd bed ready when we arrived (11pm), the number of towel sets and hygienic products varied randomly from 3 to 1 (we were 3 people) so some of the days there were not enough towels or enough bath gel, they tried to charge us drinks we did not have...
My recommendation would be ... try other hotel! I'm sure for the price you can get something much better.

I've travelled a lot in the past few months and I was so pleased with this hotel. Check in was smooth and pleasant, room was very airy and spacious, lots of space to put your stuff and clean and contempory, bed was confortable, nice touch was a comfortably chair with a pouffe to put your feet up on, plenty of sockets for all the electrical gadgets to charge and work if necessary, comfortable bathroom nice big bath (first bath in years lol) with a line to dry things over the bath (nice touch) nice for drying the swimming costume or your smalls. I also really like the pool and made good use of this, although having stairs between the pool and the changing room was difficult as it could be slippery, but not complaining as the health club was nice. There was a small fridge in the room which was nice too see was empty for me to put my things in it and nice to have a kettle with coffee/tea available at no extra charge. I was fortunate to find parking outside the hotel paid for something like 9am-8pm in 2 hour maximum limits for 3.50€ as with the timing for the length I was staying in the hotel I found the hotel parking at 21€ a day to be expensive. Likewise I didn't take the breakfast which I think would have be 25€ as I thought this was expensive (so I put horrible in the note but never tasted it). Overall, good quality (if you don't have breakfats) and one of the better places to stay in a long while and I was disappointed only to stay one night!

When we arrived, we were early, so they offered a king sized bed to get early check in- very good service. Staff are very friendly and helpful, cannot fault them.

Bad - Room cupboards were scuffed. Paid for Club Level Access, 2/3 nights the evening snacks were awful (not consistent on a night to night basis), the room-service pizza was pretty bog standard. I have ashtma, and the dust on the desk in the room accumulated quickly, and was not dusted on a daily basis, and this had an affect on my breathing.

Room was nice enough for what you pay, breakfast in the morning if you pay for it is very good. Was very happy on the first day to have a complimentary basket of fruit and bottle of vino.

Stayed 2 nights while on business in European district of Brussels in July.
Reception staff far from the friendliest I have encountered. Not the level of service I would expect for the price.
Room itself was a twin and was a bit old fashioned for my taste but very nice and very clean. Bathroom was modern. Room had everything you'd expect for this sort of hotel.
Disappointed at charges for wifi in the room (I think it was 12euros per day) and 25euros per person for breakfast each morning is shockingly high. Didn't eat any other meals in restaurant so cannot comment.
Probably wouldn't stay again due to number of other hotels nearby.

We had stayed here a few times before and had always liked the rooms, the location and the swimming pool. It is ideally located for the European Parliament and the Royal Palace and is a 5-minute walk from Troon underground station. It is a minute's walk from Luxembourg station which is handy when coming from the airport.
When we arrived we were advised our rooms were not ready but we could fill out our registration cards. The receptionist was quite disorganised and short with us but helped us leave our luggage. Upon returning later on, our rooms were ready but there was some confusion between the staff about which room we had been allocated and they argued about it in front of us. We had also waited for a good while to be seen to.
However, we were delighted with our room, which was on the club floor, allowing access to the club lounge (where there are complimentary drinks and snacks). The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well-appointed with nice toiletries. The power of the shower could have done with being stronger. We were particularly appreciative of the air conditioning. There was also an empty fridge for guests' use, but it could be filled as a minibar upon request.
The swimming pool is a good size and there are dressing gowns and slippers in the room to take to the pool. There are enough loungers at the poolside and a pleasant sauna.
Breakfast was the real let-down of our stay. On the first morning, it was adequate but the service was not attentive. We were not offered coffee until we asked for it. The selection is quite limited and it has gone downhill again compared to our last stay. There are no freshly cooked eggs nor are there waffles or sparkling wine available anymore. But on the second day, the breakfast was atrocious. We were shown to our table by the restaurant manager, only to be told by a rude waiter that that particular area was closed, but we were already seated and his colleague said we could stay. The selection this time was poorer still and the buffet was not being regularly replenished. I asked another waiter when the eggs would be back on the cooked buffet and he simply replied by shouting "what?!" at me. I asked fifteen minutes later if there would be more eggs and this was dismissed by telling me I hadn't had to wait that long and that they would be out soon. Our waiter was poor at offering coffee and tried to ignore most of our requests and complaints.
When we checked out, we were offered complimentary parking as an apology for our terrible breakfast experience, but parking was already included in our rate.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay, particularly our lovely rooms. The reception staff need to polish up their act and the breakfast needs to be overhauled if this hotel is to live up to expectations for this level of establishment.

After staying too long in Antwerp, Brussels was a breath of Fresh Air - this hotel was part of that pleasant upgrade. The place is modern near the European Union headquarter. It isn't downtown but a reasonable walk through the park will get you there in 25 minutes.

We did not purchase the breakfast apparently with the room, so we paid for the buffet (Oh My God... what a selection).

Room Tip: Relax, stay longer and go see the free museum with the European Union Parliament complex.
