“An absolutely superb hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Renaissance Brussels is one the abundant lavish business hotels in Brussels which charge exorbitant tariffs on weekdays; but on weekends, they have amazing deals and for budget leisure travellers, its an absolute steal. I must say, after staying at various budget hotels and B&Bs all over Europe, this was surely a pleasant change. After slogging it out with our backpacks for 10 days in Italy and France and with those numerous explorations, a 2 day stay at Renaissance Brussels was all we needed at rejuvenate ourselves; of course, even Delirium Cafe was very much responsible for that to an extent :D. But not taking any credit away from this remarkable hotel and its spacious rooms with such comfortable beds, I've to confess that I slept like a baby and it was a blissful experience.
The breakfast is worth mentioning, which unfortunately we couldn't experience in its entire entity due to our late-night inebriations; but nevertheless, the abundant spread was quite appealing to the eyes even though our taste-buds didn't reciprocate the same.

I picked The Renaissance because I was looking to be pampered with a comfortable king bed and spacious and clean rooms. I really enjoyed the salt bath packets to enjoy a good soak in the lovely bathroom. The little retractable clothes line in the shower was an added touch I appreciated. I found a good rate to stay over the weekend in the club level rooms that included breakfast. If you are like me who enjoy hotels partially to wake up and have food already done and waiting then this place it for you! It is more of a brunch buffet, you have many choices standard egg, meats-hot and cold, cooked mushrooms but loved the salmon and cheese trays too.
I traveled with family for two weeks and was delighted to end my tour here. The location was perfect. It was quiet and had many little cafes if you wanted to have a bite to eat. We were only a block away from the Hop on Hop off bus route that took us to the attraction areas so we didn't have to worry about getting lost in the nearby underground system to take us around, since it is a bit of a distance.
Hotel staff were fantastic and very welcoming they look happy to be working there. Our server at the hotel, Fotinos? was the sweetest man ever! Good steaks and wedge salads. The room service menu is not so great-that could be improved, as it was nothing like the food at the restaurant. However was touched that the room service delivery man went out of his way to bring ice to my room:0)
It was a great stay here well worth it!
I will stay here again!

Room Tip: Club level rooms give you FREE internet access in the club lounge:0) Perfect for quick email checks...

just arrived from brussels and our stay at the renaissance was great. The staff were very attentive to your needs. We were on our 45th wedding anniversary and they provided us with a bottle of wine and fruits. The location was close to bus or metro travel. From the airport take the #12 express bus to luxembourg stop (3.50 eur) and walk one block to hotel..easy commute. Walking to grand place took about 25 min.not bad..Restaurants around the hotel area are not in abundance..recommend dining closer to city center

We stayed one night to celebrate wedding anniversary - hotel wrote a note to us to congratulate our anniversary and we had wine & a fruit bowl on arrival in our room. Which was a very nice touch.
We have a 7 month old baby and The travel cot was all ready set up when we arrived and it very cosy & comfortable for the baby. Rooms very adequate and relaxing. Very clean and spacious. Reception staff very friendly & knowledgable giving us a map and tourist spots to visit.
It's brilliant location means from the airport, just take the 12/21 bus to Luxembourg Place and hotel is just across the square or the train to gran central then metro to Trone hotel Walking distance from Trone to Luxembourg Square very easy to find.
Sightseeing was easy albeit a bit tricky with Brussels as a city has a lot of steps and we had the pram so it was tricky at times. But found a gorgeous restaurant called RAPHAEL (www.raphaelrestaurant.be )and had a wonderful meal. The guy running the place was brilliant !!! Food excellent. Great prices and near Grand Place. Overall, a very enjoyable visit & will visit again. Flew from Leeds Bradford with BMI regional which was also excellent highly recomend !

We booked a one night stay for a weekend getaway in the Renaissence Brussels, having stayed here once before. We arrived early and checked in efficiently without any hassle. We parked in the car park which is free for guests at the weekend (it is 21 EUR during the week.)
We had room 616, which had a very comfortable bed, smart fittings and a very nice bathroom. The air conditioning worked brilliantly, and unlike in many hotels, if you left it on when you went out, it would continue to cool the room.
We booked a rate including breakfast, otherwise it is 25 EUR per person. The breakfast was good, there were a lot of people and they didn't always form an orderly queue, but this is not the fault of the Hotel! I would suggest that the Hotel provides some signs/notes to explain what is in the various bowls, as natural yoghurt and soured cream were placed next to each with no means of distinguishing which was which.
We used the swimming pool, which is a nice size. It was very busy and other guests had laid towels on the floor to soak up water, which meant you had to walk over a sodden towel - not especially pleasant. We didn't stay very long but this was the only negative.
We asked for late check out and were extended until 2pm at no extra charge, which meant that we had time to explore the nearby museums and then return to our room before leaving.
The hotel is easy to find with a sat nav and it takes about 20 minutes to walk into the city centre – there is a station for the Brussels city bike scheme in Luxembourg square and at Troone Station, so it is very easy to hire one of these to get about.
Overall, this was a very pleasant and comfortable stay, and we will stay here again when we return to Brussels

This was my second time at this Marriott, and I like the hotel and breakfast buffet quite a bit. We had the weekend special which made for a great deal, including breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and I appreciated the in-room safe to stow my valuables. The hotel is a bit outside the city center, but there is a bus that runs every 30 minutes or so that takes you in to the center. It is very quiet in this area, and you are right near the EU buildings. My only complaint is that Marriott is constantly trying to get more money out of you. You only get one hour of free internet, and then there is a charge that is quite high. I also used a local phone call to connect with my prepaid calling card to get a call through to the U.S. I knew I would have to pay Marriott something per minute for the call, but I was ASTOUNDED that a 45-minute phone call cost 32 euros--to a local number!! I can only imagine what an international call would cost. I am tired of places like this that add on so many costs for basic communication services. I will be looking elsewhere the next time I am in Brussels.
