“Great little restaurant, full of ambience, that serves seriously good food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012 via mobile

I liked this little restaurant the moment I walked in. There's a great atmosphere, and the food is really tasty.
The person serving me did hang back a bit, but was very obliging once I managed to attract her attention.
I would like to see more by-the-glass options available for their wines, as solo diners (and most of the diners there were solo!) generally don't order whole bottles of wine.
All in all this was a most pleasant dining experience. I'll definitely eat there again on my next trip to Brussels.

“Great place for a quiet dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

I love this place. A classic Belgian menu, service is ok - not amazing but they won't forget you or keep you waiting for hours - location is good and the decor inside is cosy. Waterzooi, asperges and carbonnade are excellent, the desserts as well. Price is fair - difficult to find the same combination of charme, good food and decent service in the same price bracket. An Ixelles/Uccle classic place for a quiet dinner.

“Charming decor, Intimate, Attentive Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

This neighborhood restaurant was built in a converted garage, thus the name. The decor is absolutely charming and a very enterprising decorator has made the best of an awkward triangular-shaped very high space. The proprietor makes a visitor feel like a friend and the food -- traditional favorites like blanquette de veau -- are perfectly done. A very pleasant place to spend an evening.

“Classic fare with a twist in a cozy environment.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012 via mobile

Rabbit stew in a Chimay beer-base, expertly prepared steak frites, and a French-onion soup- flavored dip served free with the breadbasket. Top it off with a quality selection of beers and wine and you have a restaurant worth visiting even if you are not in the neighborhood. Check out their menu on their website and consider making a reservation as they have only approx. 12 tables. Good enough to strongly consider going twice in one trip.

“Quiet Confidence”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

I've eaten here twice now and would happily do so again. Decent quality Belgian food, with a good value "suggestion of the day" and a menu which changes according to seasonal availability. Local specialities are particularly worth trying - asparagus (in season), carbonnade, and new-season herring when I was there the other evening. Good atmosphere, created by the sound of happy diners having a good time, some vibrant murals, the comfortable clutter and the quiet but friendly service. The main improvement from my point-of-view would be a wider selection of wines by the glass (I'd love to try some of those they've got lying around the restaurant but wouldn't want to have to buy a whole bottle!). Go there, eat well, have a good time, and don't spoil it for those of us who want to come back again!
