The restaurant itself is popular and good value for money. I felt the food was a little sweetened up and spiced down for Thai food, but all the dishes our group had were tasty.
My problem with this place was the service - mainly the speed, but also the attentiveness or lack thereof.
Our group ordered a couple of entrees and 4 main dishes, one being a curry, as well as rice for 2 people. The rice arrived first, then 3 of the main dishes, one by one even though they were not being shared. One of the dishes (fish with lime juice and chilli) arrived cold.
Waiting and waiting for the last dish (red curry - really not that hard to make in a timely manner), my friend's rice became cold. Finally once everyone else had almost finished their mains, my friend asked about whether his curry was coming. Apparently it was.
So, waiting and waiting some more, and we asked again and pointed out that he would need new rice as his had gone cold.
When the curry did finally come, it was well presented and tasty, and they did bring out some fresh rice, but by this time my friend was starving, and the rest of our group had long finished their food.
No admission that they had obviously forgotten his dish, and no discount offered for the unfortunate inconvenience. Overall I was a little disappointed. The kitchen on this occasion was not organised, and the waitstaff were not attentive. Our water jug was not topped up once empty, nobody came to ask if anyone wanted anything else during our meals. This place purports to be a nice local restaurant, not a Thai take-away/cafe, but the service standard was akin to the latter, or worse. The staff just didn't display the warm Thai hospitality that one might expect. Better to go across the road to Paradai 2 Thai, or to one of the many other restaurant options along Koornang Road, including a few other Thai places.
