I ended up at the Boustigue quite by chance. I was driving back to Grenoble from the mountains, and it was time to stop for the night. All the hotel in Corps were closed or full, and the receptionist at one hotel called around to see who had room. What luck, because the hotels in Corps are mostly on the main road, while the Boustigue is totally isolated above the town. It's quite a winding road through a forest to get there, but once there you are rewarded with fabulous views and total silence. My room was small, but more than adequate for a stop-over. It was clean, had a balcony with a view, the bed was firm, and the bathroom was functional if a bit rudimentary. It was a hot summer's day but at this altitude the night was cool. I hadn't slept that soundly in ages. The decor is toned-down mountain chalet. This isn't luxury, but perfectly comfortable. The dinner was above average for France, with a buffet of vegetable starters, and then a good choice of meat dishes. Breakfast was also a good spread of fruits, breads, jams and yogurts. There are numerous walks you can take right from the hotel. The total price for the room, dinner, and breakfast came to 75 euros which I thought was fair.
