We have just got home from a wonderful stay in cow slip cottage at Rectory farm, we booked it as a late booking for 3 nights and chose Rectory farm due to the great reviews on tripadvisor.
We were not dissapointed from the outset, we were greeted in a warm friendly way by the owners, Cow slip cottage was clean, well equipped, and full of suprises!!!, every draw and cupboard had usefull equipment and information in, with loads of great ideas for days out and information on the village, there were even books for all ages to read!!!!
Nothing was too much trouble for the owners, we were greeted with fresh made bread which was lovely, milk arrived soon after and the following morning, 6 eggs just laid by the hens on site!.
On site there were lovely animals, Lambs, small horse, it was great to see them at the end and start of the day.
We were concerned by the location to start with as it was in the middle of nowhere! but we soon discovered it was the best location to visit the many lovely things there are to do in the area, the great coast line, whitby, the steam railway, Castle Howard, The many national trust properties and York was an easy drive.
And the other great thing was it was great value for money! perfect in all respects and we will go again...
