Well worth a visit for any raliway enthusiast or simply just to get a superb mountain-top view. The journey up lasts an hour, a small but sturdy steam-locomotive pushes the carriages up the hill, most of which is at about 1 in 4! Already going up you have spectacuar views of the lake, at the top there is a 360° panorama of lakes and mountains. There are a couple of restaurants, there is also the possibility of taking a cable car down the other side of the mountain. (to Sörenberg)
You need fairly good weather to get the views and at the top there is little to do except admire them. The excursion is pricey (CHF 84.- full-fare return to the summit), but even so a memorable trip.
