“Fantastic - A Secret Piece of Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Our fourth visit to Kirkbride Farm, and once again we had a fabulous holiday. Dundrum Cottage is such a fantastic home from home, everything you could wish for has been carefully thought of by Aileen, she is a wonderful hostess. The views, the stars, the peace and quiet, and the location are truly wonderful. Many hours spent watching the changing weather, its quite breathtaking at times, especially the rainbows over The Machars. Would not hesitate in recommending Kirkbride Farm to everyone, you will not be disappointed, we can guarantee that!!!!!!!! We will be
back in 2013, this time staying in Inchmalloch - we cannot wait!!!!!!

Just home from a weeks stay at Inchmalloch and I have to say it was just perfect. The house is so beautiful that you struggle to do any sightseeing as you just don't want to leave it. The views are breathtaking and we spent many an hour watching the ever changing weather with a good book and a glass of wine in hand. Also just want to thank Aileen for letting us bring our dog with us. So many 5houses do not allow pets which is a shame as it's such a joy to bring them on holiday with us.

This is our second trip to Port Logan - we stayed in Dumdrum last time which we thought was brilliant. This time we chose Inchmalloch and believe me, the views from this house are breathtaking. Standing in the conservatory you can look out over the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland and also over Luce Bay towards the mountains of the Lake District in England.
The accommodation is luxurious and the furnishings and fittings are of an extremely high standard - everything is catered for. The super warm welcome from Aileen lives long in the memory and she certainly goes the extra mile to ensure that you have a wonderful stay.
There is so much to do in the area - lots of walking and plenty of places for sightseeing if you can drag yourself away from the comfort of Inchmalloch. The Logan Botanical Gardens (only 1 mile away) are well worth a visit and the sunsets down at Port Logan are truly memorable.
We will definitely return again and would certainly recommend this holiday home if you are considering spending a holiday in Dumfries and Galloway.

Always a tad nervous as a holiday approaches, will the accommodation live up to the website? Well I have to say this house and the helpfulness of the owners exceeded our expectations!

Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Inchmalloch House. We were joined by our two twenty-something sons and their partners and later in the week by friends also. Aileen and Matthew are genuinely wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The house was undoubtedly the most impressive holiday let we have ever stayed in anywhere in Europe. The build quality and standard of furnishings and fittings is absolutely superb. The views simply have to be seen to be believed - utterly stunning!! We spotted Deer, Hares, and Owls right by the house during our stay.
Can't recommend higly enough - we will be back!

Picked the best week of weather to stay at the Cotthouse. Welcomed by champers and choccies (and eggs). Lovely people/location and would certainly consider returning. Aileen insisted we had a look at Inchmalloch too on our way out and it would be ideal for our cycling group for a long weekend.

We have just returned from our 3rd year staying in the luxurious Dundrum cottage on Kirkbride Farm in Port Logan. Thank you to our wonderful hosts, Matthew, Aileen and the boys for such a warm welcome.

As always we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The Dundrum is a 5* 4 bedroom house situated on the farm. Due to its elevated location, it has spectacular views over both Luce Bay and the Irish Sea. Views you never ever will tire of....truly inspiring.

The farm is in walking distance of the house and we are regular visitors at lamb and piglet feeding times!

The beach is at the foot of the hill and there are plenty of other beaches to be explored in the area. We have managed to visit when the weather has been good so we always pack swimming gear for our keen paddlers!

We have visited and would recommend Logan Botanical Gardens as an excellent attraction, for children's activities during Easter and for lunch which is homemade and delicious.

Stranraer is 13 miles away and we have spent an afternoon there on rainier days in the Ryan Leisure centre which has a small soft play area and a great pool. There is also Agnew Park for sunnier days which is located just up from the port.

This is a really beautiful part of Scotland and we've enjoyed 3 great holidays here and look forward to the next one!
