“Wow!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

This is a fabulous B and B in the most beautiful vale in the Yorkshire Dales. A splendid house in a wonderful location which gives you incredible views from the bedrooms of the surrounding countryside. The bed was extremely comfortable, all fixtures and furnishings finished to a high standard. The breakfast offered a wide choice including a fresh fruit compote with ginger! The welcome from Kath and Doug and the children was really warm and friendly. I will definitely be returning!

This is a gem of a place. Fantastic from the moment we got there, to the time we left. They are a lovely family and made us feel very welcome. The little touches made all the difference, homemade biscuits were delicious so was the breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable and spotless.
Location was ideal with easy train links to Skipton, a nice pub in the village (New Inn) we didn't eat there but the beer was good!
Overall an excellent place to stay, thank you for a great weekend.

Really nice people, spotless room, comfortable bed and plenty of toys to keep the kids amused! It got even better the next day with a homecooked breakfast looking out over the garden and at the chickens who had laid the eggs!!

How fortunate we were to discover such a great B & B in which to stay. We have stayed in many B & B's over the years, and would consider ourselves to be very perceptive as to what is 'good' and 'not so good'. We would not hesitate to rate this one as excellent. A lovely, welcoming family - great hosts. A large, clean and comfortable room with matching en-suit. A wide choice of good food for breakfast. We were there for 5 nights, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have not experienced better in a B & B. Peter and Ruth.

My husband and I travelled around England for 10 days in March. We stayed in some really wonderful B & B's but St. John's House was by far the best. The room was large, clean extremely comfortable with wonderful views all around. Kath and her family were very friendly, helpful and the young "porter and waiter" were excellent. We loved the large variety of breakfast from the porridge, homemade breads and freshly laid eggs. We would certainly recommend this B&B as a top of the list stay.
