Inque has a significant difference from other "in hotel/accommodation-type" restaurants in that it has rather good views of the South Parklands, and from 3 aspects as well due to 3 of their walls being made of glass. However, it does not capitalise on this uniqueness.
On the night we went, the weather was cold outside and to our dismay,it seemed to be almost as cold inside Inque. This lack of heating served to significantly diminish the dining experience.
The wait staff did a good job with meeting our food and drink requirements and special comment must go to a wait staff who went to great trouble to get me an appropriate glass of wine when one, then two, of my wine requests were unavailable.
The food was visually lacking attractiveness and Inque could do better as it advertises itself as a semi-fine dining establishment. What appeared on the plates were reminiscent of what one could get from a very good pub. The flavours were fine for the entree and squid but the lamb was cooked 'well done' when the order was for medium.
In addition, the wait time between the entree and mains was noticeably long, more so given that the place was about 2/3 full.
Overall, a mediocre experience in terms of ambiance and food. Staff service was fine.
