Stayed here with my daughter for 1 week on a last minute holiday with Jet2.com on an all inclusive basis. The Adults Only aspect ensures a very quiet stay.
Hotel has mainly Scandinavian & German guests. Majority of guests are either B&B or Half Board. All inclusive is really full board with all-day drinks included. Snacks not available throughout day, only main course meals and desserts from a set menu but you can eat whenever you want - the Caesar Salad is to die for!!! Staffing is limited but service is very good. Breakfast and Evening meals are buffet style and there is a very good variety to cater for all dietary requirements. A resident chef will cook meat & fish to order in the evening. There is the option to eat A La Carte, in the Poolside restaurant. All staff are very efficient and professional, with a very pleasant and helpful manner. The rooms (Junior Suites) ALL have sea views, (which is about 10m away) and are large, having a big double bed (with twin single mattresses), good size bathroom, with liquid soap provided and a shower overlooking the sea, and a lounge area with TV. There is also a furnished balcony with 2 armchairs and table. There is the option to hire a safe for the room. Hotel location is fantastic, right on the promenade BUT promenade does not really go anywhere. There is a small beach. However, Playa del Cura is VERY small, only a couple of restaurants/bars, a small gift shop and a Spar supermarket - which sells most things and is a gold mine!!! There are 2 Hotel swimming pools. The large one is really great with jacuzzi loungers and several spa features in it. There are loads of sunbeds with a parasol and table for each pair. Pool towels are provided free. There is also a Spa, Gym and small shop selling drinks and delicassen items. The boutique shop was closed. There is water aerobics each day in the pool as well as some activities in the gym. Evening entertainment is basic - only 3 evenings per week and just a singer/guitarist but very pleasant. The Poolside Restaurant/Bar is a good place to while away the evening with cocktails/drinks whilst watching the twinkling lights of surrounding buildings & pool and listening to the sound of the waves. There is a bus stop 100m from hotel providing cheap transport to nearby towns.
We had a few problems with our room during our stay; wardrobe door dislodged making access to drawers not possible, room key did not work in poolside door, shower did dot drain and flooded bathroom, - but all were dealt with very quickly and efficiently.
We particularly liked: Adults Only aspect, beachfront location, Hotel ambience, friendly efficient staff, plenty of sunbeds, pool and sun all day round.
We least liked: Lack of shower gel & shampoo, shower does not drain away easily and can flood bathroom if you are not careful, shortness of promenade
