Hotel Posada Canal Grande was a GREAT place to start off our vacation in Costa Rica.

The staff was also GREAT. Eliza (Elizabeth) is truly one of the best we've people we've encountered in our travels, and she saved the day when we left a bag on the chair while checking out. When we called from the airport, she quickly arranged for a taxi to bring the bag to us, and 30 minutes later we had our bag.

The location is much more convenient to the airport than downtown San Jose, yet not right on top of the airport itself. A taxi ride to the hotel ran appr. $25, and give yourself at least 45 minutes to an hour to get to the airport when departing due to traffic.

The staff who prepared our breakfast each morning were very nice (very little english), but made us feel right at home.

The rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable and clean. Bring your own shampoo!

We also enjoyed the hotel Resturant the first night we arrived in Costa Rica, and our last night before leaving. There were only a few people in the restaurant each night we dined there, but the wait staff was very nice and very attentive (but knew limited English). Food was great too, but on the expensive side (as is most everything in Costa Rica).

We spent our first night here before going on to Nosara. We wanted to spend our last night here but the hotel was booked. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was excellent. The view was great and the location was safe. I would not recccomend traveling without a gps.

This was a great hotel on the outskirts of San Jose. I would definitely recommend it for your first or last day on CR. Great people, great breakfast, great price! English is not great and Wi-fi was readily accessible.

In this relaxing hotel surrounded by nature, I found a particular, rare and unique hospitality and welcome, a warm greeting to our friend Marco, correct and is an expert in the country, Elizabeth .. pure energy at the highest level, and Ramona Heiner always available and smiling.
