“Chicken fried steak please”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

I love their chicken fried steak and the ribs on Sunday afternoons.

Fun place where you can have a quiet afternoon drink or party later on that night.

“What a fantastic expierience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012 via mobile

So i came out to costa rica hoping what i would expierience would be an incredible vacation. I stopped into a nice little town called santa ana. Stopped at this very attractive bar called cowtown. I was alone, so naturally i found myself to be a little uneasy, but when i sat down the owner josh and the gorgeous bartenders made me feel so welcome that i stayed till closing. All the people were so interesting, so many different personalities, and the laughs just didn't stop. What a great time! And the chicken fried steak was deeelicious. Thanks for the great time!! Next time i come back to costa rica, I'll be sure to head back to Cow Town Bar the first chance i get. CHEERS!!

“"Favorite Local Hang-Out"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2012

Nothing to dislike here. Food delicious and very reasonably
priced and perhaps the nicest thing about this restaurant, it's
quality and varied menu, not to mention it's convenience to our
apartment less than two blocks away, are the wonderful girls
who work here. Jaierda, Anna, Zaida and Natalia - they just
don't get any better than this and most of us sincerely believe,
THEY are truly the reason for the incredible success that this
place enjoys, night after night. We dine there at least once
every week and in fact are on our way there again this evening.

“Great atmosphere, music and food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

Having lived in Costa Rica now for a year, it's been hard to find a place we'd like to hang out at that has great food, good music and a fun atmosphere. We just visited Cowtown in Santa Ana last week and it's definitely now on our favorites list. First the food: excellent selection of bar and local fare like fajitas, chicken wings. My husband had chicken fried steak (the vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly, fancy that!). I had the calamari which was delicious and it was battered and made to order. We sat at the bar and the bartenders (who can speak English, Spanish) were always on hand to serve. Reasonably priced with our bill for 2 with drinks came to about $40 incl tip/tax.

The crowd is a mix of locals and expats, there are TVs to watch, good tunes playing, a patio for people watching and clean bathrooms. The owner Josh is an American and always around to make sure things are going well. You can find it on the 2nd floor on the old road in Santa Ana from the Red cross going east. I recommend Cowtown to tourists or locals who are looking for a friendly comfortable place with consistently great food.
