“NICE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

We chose this hotel as our first and last stop for travel to Costa Rica. Happily, it was everything we wanted, and more. The rooms were spotless, the staff was friendly and professional, the facilities were super clean, and the whole building even smelled nice, instead of that dreaded industrial cleaner scent you encounter so often in the states.

We ate breakfast in the on-site restaurant and it was both fresh and well stocked.

The room and bathroom weren't huge, but it was certainly adequate for two adults.

The only downside we could come up with was the uncomfortable toilet seat and the overhead smoke detector that flashed green lights all night. For those who are extremely picky, being aware will make them less of a problem. For everyone else, I doubt they would even notice.

One more thing: if you stay at this hotel and love Indian food, be sure to visit Naans & Curries just across the street--best Indian food we've ever eaten!

Room Tip: Some rooms have a corner window in addition to the main window--it's a nice bonus if you enjoy l...

We stayed at the Indigo on our way to scuba diving in Cocos and really loved our "short but sweet" stay.
The rooms are very well-appointed and the bed was a real delight !

It's a bit far from San Jose town centre but we were told that was best avoided.
There are plenty of inexpensive, quick restaurants and shops around the hotel if you need any last minute purchase.
We would definitely stay again.

the hotel is new and modern, is well maintained and clean. The staff is great and do their best to help. It is well located in Lindora/Santa Ana and have plenty of option to eat out within walking distance. The breakfast is just ok, the hot food like eggs is usually warm at best if not cold. I´ve stayed twice and definitely recommend it.

We stayed at Hotel Indigo from Dec 22-Dec 29 and enjoyed it very much. The room was large with a kitchen table, sink, coffee maker, fridge, tv, couch, chair, and coffee table in the living room area. The room also had a treadmill, exercise ball, yoga mat, and TRX training system which was handy. The bedroom was large with a full size closet with organizer, hangers, and a full size ironing board. The bathroom is large with a giant walk in shower and plenty of counter space.

The hotel has a nice fitness facility which is equipped with treadmills, bikes, an elliptical, benches, yoga mats, exercise balls, TRX trainers, resistance equipment, small free weights and a water cooler. Outside the fitness facility is the pool and lounge area (can also be accessed through the lobby). The pool area was always clean, however the water is very cold (I'm a Canadian girl who grew up on the ocean so I mean cold) so I only went for brief swim twice the entire trip.

The restaurant at the hotel has good food. We had a Christmas Eve buffet as well as a breakfast buffet two times during our stay. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, shops, and there are two grocery stores nearby. The Fresh Market is just across the street from the lobby and has a good selection of fruit/snacks/beverages.

Overall, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff at the hotel were very helpful with knowledge of the area and lots of suggestions for things to do. Ivianna was very helpful and even booked a tour for us. Frederic saved us a lot of time upon checkout by suggesting that we purchase our Costa Rican Departure Tax at the hotel rather than at the airport (when we arrived at the airport the wait for this tax form was about 30 minutes).

First off, this hotel is not right near the airport and there is no airport shuttle if that is an issue. I believe it was 7 km from the airport on roads that were easily navigated with a GPS. You didn't have to really drive through the craziness of the city to get there. It is a "guarded" hotel, as a lot of them in San Jose are. It was just off the main street in a residential/commercial area. There was a market (grocery store) across the street and several restaurants and shops within walking distance. It was very quiet there. As soon as we arrived we were handed a virgin mojito to drink which was quite refreshing- I felt like I was at a resort! Check in was quick. Front desk clerks spoke English and they do exchange money there. It looks like a new hotel. It is very clean and has a nice cozy lobby with computers to use. The one thing that was missing was any area information. You had to ask the clerks for recommendations on things to do or places to eat. The room was really great! Very stylish, clean, and new looking. And no carpet! All laminate floors. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We had a great view of the nice pool area with the waterfall mural on the side of the building. The walk in shower was awesome. Nice amenities and a hairdryer are provided. Also in the room was a mini bar ($$) with snacks and drinks. There was no platinum IHG goody bag provided. Breakfast was included in my rate and was a delicious buffet with fresh fruits, gallo pinto, eggs, waffles, and a host of other goodies. It was very good. Overall I was very happy with my first stay at a Hotel Indigo and will look forward to staying at others in the future.

Our hotel stay was terrific. Clean and safe with a staff that made everything easy--booked tours, found emergency drivers and even booked other hotels in another Costa Rican city for us. You can walk to restaurants and a grocery store. All in all it was a wonderful place to stay.
