“Seeing Mount Tateyama”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

Mount Tateyama is the highest mountain in the Japanese Alps and well worth a look. Pristine with snow, pretty as a picture and a beautiful sight to behold. Visit the area, you won't be disappointed :)

“Walking up to Tateyama Caldera”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

A bit of a tough walk up the mountain side (about 20-25 mins for beginners) but, well worth the effort, when you see the amazing view waiting for you at the top. Nature at it's finest, on a clear day you can see for miles and miles ... it was breath-taking (literally and figuratively). The slow walk down is a lot easier. Allow an hour to enjoy the experience ...

“Alps”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Long bus ride but views were worth it ... Kurobe Dam was very interesting and fun to see it frozen. The views of Mt. Tateyama from the ropeway and hotel are exquisite. We walked through snow canyon which was very fun for someone from Chicago to see everyone so excited about snow:) Might be worth it to stay at hotel. Onsen was inside but enjoyable.
