I have been meaning to write something since we got back in January so better late than never.
I choose to stay here based entirely on the trip advisor reviews here. Never before had a read such amazing reviews so I had to check it out to see what the fuss was all about.
From the second we pulled up Nao and Kimmi could'nt do enough to help us, taking up our luggage and sorting us our with slippers. The bedroom had a tv and dvd player and there was a large selection of dvd's in the reception which is quite nice after a day on the slopes.
Eternal Flame is like a home from home. The communal living room is warm, cozy and very welcoming. You can help yourself to hot drinks and cookies in the evening whilst watching the super huge tv or playing the wii.
If you give a days notice you can eat here in the evening and I would strongly recommend this as the food is amazing and very very reasonable. Breakfast is also worth coming for alone. I am fussy and don't eat eggs but kimmi make me something different instead which was so sweet.
If you are planning a day trip out then do check with Nao as he gave us some really helpful advice when visiting the snow monkeys and we saved a fortune going by train instead of the coach tour. He can also sort you out with life tickets in the morning.
All in all Kimmi and Nao are the nicest couple you are every likely to meet. We would love to come back to Japan to snowboard here again and despite wanting to try the north island I think we would return here instead because i'm pretty sure we woudl'nt find as nicer place to stay,
