I have been there twice for dinner. The first on my own and the second with my daughter and her husband. We all enjoyed the excellent food, friendly service and atmosphere of this old home expanded to an enclosed porch overlooking Lake Ontario
This is a great spot to stop for lunch or dinner on your way to or from Niagara. It is right off the QEW. If you drive by the first exit, you will spot it off the highway to the north and simply take the next exit and back track just a bit.
All of the entrees we had were tasty. The chef is imaginative creating memorable dishes.
They created a made-to-order vegetarian plate for me the first time I was there. The second time I had a great pizza off the menu. My daughter said that the chicken was very good. Don't be afraid to ask for any remainders to go.
The wine selection is good with some imported but representing the local area nicely.
You can request a table near the window but there are no guarantees so request and pick an early 5:45 - 6 arrival time. But other interior tables are fine throughout the restaurant and help you soak up the atmosphere of the expsosed wood.
On making the reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion. (It was, my son-in-law's birthday.) They sprinkled small birthday decorations on the table when we were being seated and served him a complimentary apple-cinnamon tartufo with a candle,
The price for food including tax was about $25-30 each with a shared appetizer, an entree each and a no dessert. Wine ranged from $28 and up a bottle. Our bill with tax was $170 for food, 2 beers, 1 martini and a bottle of wine but you could get away for a lot less with less alcohol.
I would strongly suggest a visit and if you like it, as I did, you'll plan to go back several times.
