“A lovely place for your ski trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

Just back from a 4 day trip to this lovely hotel. It is situated in the middle of Arc 1800 with convenient access to all the shops, bars, restaurants and slopes.
The room I had was on the north side of the building with no view on the slopes but with a lovely view of the maintain range across the valley. The twin room is spacious enough and has a lot of closets to store all your skiing stuff. The bathroom is rather small but has everything you need (mine had a bath tub and no shower) and the toilet is located in a different separate area. The bed is of generous dimensions and the mattress is outstanding. The room was quite. The heating worked fine and the water was hot as it should be.
Free wifi reception in the room is excellent, I think that a router was placed in each room.
The breakfast buffet is generously laid out and a selection of local cheeses and cured meats are proposed. The dinner buffet is also well laid out but with a majority of cold dishes I would qualify as entrees. About 4 hot dishes are proposed and one dish is prepared by a show cook.
The dessert buffet is a treat.
Before or after dinner, it is worthwhile to spend some time in the bar close to the fire place. The bar tender makes some pretty good cocktails and to try to local white Savoie wine. There is also a fine local band that performs twice a night in the bar.
Skis and boots can be safely stored in a shop about 25 m away from the lobby.
There is also a lovely wellness area in the hotel (access is 62 euros for 3 days, including a 25 minute massage) and it has a pool, hamman and sauna.
Staff was outstanding, always available, cheerful and helpful.

Perfectly located on the edge but centered of the area. Facing the mountains and at literally 200 meters from the skiing tracks. Rooms are confortable and well equiped, even if some are very "far" from the receptionist.

Hotel is huge and make think of a huge cruise ship. Good breakfast. 2 restaurants inside not really amazing but quite ok. Very happening jazz lounge bars. Swimming pool and spa are way too small for the size of the hotel.

Still the best hotel for the 1800 "level".

Had a great time at Hotel du Golf, met some lovely people in a absolutely fantastic setting.
As the hotel is in a ski resort, the hotel is geared up for this, so the summer is really the hotel's down time. Therefore, the hotel was pretty quiet- perhaps only a few rooms taken- which did mean the atmosphere was a little low! However the hotel itself is fine- the communal areas are smart and look recently jazzed up. The rooms are rather 1970's style but the bed was very comfy, we had an amazing view of the Alps and it was all very clean. Only downsides to the room were there was no coffee or tea facilities, and the shower had a small low mount so you would have to either sit down in the bath or hold the shower itself, not always the most easy or comfortable! Also, there was no jacuzzi or sauna as I had hoped- they were there but only switched on in the winter!
All the staff were wonderful- we came across Matthieus, David and Pierre- all completely charming and very helpful. The hotel is easy to find and is well situated in Les Arcs as all the main activities are here for winter and summer, plus cable cars, ski lifts, shops, bars and restaurants. Food was not great to begin with- we went for the half board option (so breakfast and dinners) breakfast is mostly bread, boiled eggs, fruit, croissants, cereal and some bacon/scrambled eggs- plenty to go round. The evening meals were ambitious and thoughtful but didn't always quite hit the mark- however as the holiday went on the food got much better and was presented beautifully. There is a smart bar for drinks and cocktails by this restaurant and also a large fire for the cold nights!
Overall we were happy with our stay and would certainly recommend to others.

Stayed here for a weekend break recently and was quite impressed with the hotel. Bedrooms were modern and spacious enough for us and our 18 mth old and the public areas were well maintained and spacious. The service however was excellent from the reception to the bar, restaurant and the duty manager everyone was polite and exceptionally helpfull. We've stayed in many 4 & 5 star properties that could learn alot from them and for this reason I would certainly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very 70s but very clean. Our 'double' room consisted of 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single duvet covers. Limited room facilities, no tea/coffee or kettle, travel kettle came in handy. Ensuite bathroom had no shower, just a sink, bath with mixer taps and shower head - if only they had added a shower curtain and a wall mount for the shower head it would have been fine. The toilet was in a separate small cubicle with no sink -awkward! Breakfast was ok, buffet style with limited hot food - eggs, sausage & bacon and usual continental breads, cold meats, pastries, yoghurt & fruit. To be honest food wasn't great, we sampled a buffet dinner on our first night, it was terrible and expensive at 30 Euro pp. I wouldn't book half board as there are plenty of great restaurants, snack bars and supermarkets within a few minutes walk. The hotel is in a great location, virtually Ski in/out, best if you plan your route back so that you end up on the right side of the slopes. Free ski lockers are provided, in the basement close to the back door, but there was only enough room for 2 sets of skis, had to take boots and helmets back to our room. All in all a nice hotel but with limited and/or pricey facilities. Guests must pay a fee for pool/sauna. It seems there are apartments in the same block, I would go for them unless you got a cheap room deal as we did. Staff very helpful and friendly couldn't fault the service at all.

Hotel room was pretty good. bed comfy, bathroom nice. It was a bit of a walk to reception; bit like hogwarts with staircases going everywhere. Shame about pool being €15 and having to book in advance. Bar drinks a bit pricy, but you get live music with that.
Position was great with ski in ski out very possible even at the end of April. With expectations of ski hotels being a bit lower, I can't really find much to moan about.

Just returned from Hotel du Golf after a 5 night stay. We booked the Ski Addict package, including Half Board and ski passes. Would recommend this hotel due to its fantastic ski location - 2 chairlifts and a gondola from just outside the hotel. We had a superior room which was good, although was lacking the balcony which was stated on the hotel description - more of a sliding door and a rail! The bathroom could really be improved with a fixed proper shower rather than just a showerhead attachment on the bath. We found the double bed with single duvets quite weird! I think the room photos on the website do the room more justice than they actually are, as really they seem quite cheaply finished. However they were comfortable and welcoming after a long day skiing. We were fortunate enough to have a room only 6 doors down from reception on pretty much the same level as reception. I think you'd have a pretty long walk up and down the strangely laid out corridors if you were at the other end of the hotel! The food was good, we had some lovely dinners in Le Petit Zinc and Le Mont Blanc restaurants and the buffet restaurant had good variation at both dinner and breakfast. We thought the bar drinks were very overpriced and on a saturday and sunday night you had to be there before 7pm to get a seat. On these busy nights we waited 20 minutes to be served! Staff ignored us, and when we asked to be served we were told 2 minutes, then they never came back! Overall we found the staff a little rude and not as friendly and welcoming as we'd have hoped. This includes both reception and restaurant and bar staff, who's customer service skills weren't great. The hotel has a good ski room and we had a fantastic 4 days skiing. Overall an ok hotel which I probably would return to due to its brilliant location.
