We stayed at Breadsall Priory for just one night, we took advantage of the leisure facilities which are in good condition, and although the hotel is very old, the facilities are modern, clean and well kept
The bars are welcoming, although expensive, breakfast was fabulous, the waiting staff are very professional and the food excellent, the choice of food was excellent
The grounds are beautiful, a must for golfers

We decided to go back to breadsall for a Christmas break with the family as we last stayed there for a special occasion which was fabulous.
We arrived on Christmas Eve and was greeted by very friendly staff who were all very helpful and quick to respond to our needs
Our rooms were fantastic, warm and clean and the staff quickly brought extras to our rooms such as ice and ice buckets etc
The meal on the first night was of exceptional standard as we have found previously when at breadsall
On Christmas Day we were a little dissatisfied with the efforts made in the dining areas such as lack of Christmas decor and Christmas music, which reduced the atmosphere. Unfortunately the main meal on Christmas Day was poor. The service was very slow, which wasn't a problem apart from the food was not good, very out of character for this place. The starters were good but the main course was not well presented. The meats were dry as if they had been under a hot plate for long and there were no accompaniments - not even cranberry sauce for the turkey. It was as If the catering on Christmas lunch was a different company altogether. The Christmas pudding was a microwave individual pud for 1 - not a proper pudding at all.
Boxing Day the staff levels seemed to be back to normal. Service was resumed and breakfast was good so I'd imagine the food would be back to normal too but we checked out at lunch
Overall the place and staff were wonderful it was just a shame to be so let down by the food on Christmas Day when the food is usually so good

This hotel is located in Breadsall and has a picturesque setting that is very beautiful.

The amenities are fabulous and the breakfast offers a large choice.

I would definitely stay here again. It is one of the better Marriott properties I have stayed in. The reception staff that were on duty on the evening of the 22nd December were really helpful, so nice to have good quality customer service and a smile to match!

Room Tip: I had a room on a high floor offering lovely views of the Countryside.

We booked in here for one night. We had booked a spa day although the spa bit is lacking as they cant get planning permission to build a link between the pool area and treatment area so you have to get dressed to go for treatments which is a bit of a faff!, so the set up is not like a normal spa day where you don dressing gowns for the day and wonder about in them, although they never advertised it as this so no complaints there.

The hotel is wonderful. The breakfast was second to none - so much on offer and lovely too. Only problem was it was freezing in our hoel room (literally it was zero degrees) - no one had put the heating on which was located in the mews. We turned the heating on and borrowed a portable heater to help take the chill off the room but it was still quite cold by the following day. We did mention it at reception and were told 'it would be looked into' - but there wasnt a problem with the heating, it just hadn't been turned on!! So Breadsall priory, if you read this, dont forget to turn the heating on for your guests staying in the mews!

Room Tip: The Mews are lovely rooms but you have to walk outside to get back into the main hotel so if you don...

We recently stayed at Breadsall Priory for two nights and had a lovely time.

Service and friendliness of staff could not be faulted. The room was slightly smaller than other Mariott hotels I have stayed in, but it was clean and cosy. We were put in a room which looked to be set up for a wheelchair user (red emergency cords hanging from the ceiling, a heightened toilet seat and widened doorways). One very minor point is that they were a bit stingey with the tea/coffee supplies!

In the evening the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the food was all very tasty. Breakfast was nice, though on the first morning I think we must have timed it badly as the food was not as fresh as the second morning.

All in all, a very nice break and we would definitely stay here again.
