“Spending a week in luxury and relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

My wife and I spent 5 nights and 6 days at Sporthotel Singer and it comes recommended. We booked half board, so breakfast and dinner were included. It is located in Berwang a small village close to the German border in Northern Tirol.

When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and by young mr. Singer. The hotel is family run and the Singer family greets all guests personally. We were informed that we had been upgraded from a normal room to a suite. The room itself was spacious, clean, luxurious. The bathroom was equally spacious and cleaner than I have ever seen a hotel bathroom.

Breakfast is varied and very well done. A chef cooks eggs the way you want them and there is sparkling wine for those that like it. In the evening there is a five course meal, consisting of choice between: two soups, two starters, a salad bar, three main courses (fish, meat, veg), and a desert. The wine and water you don't drink on one evening is available the next evening. There were some interesting combinations, like Tuna with blueberry's and buttermilk, which tasted really good (which I hadn't expected, but I am adventurous). Main courses like Iberico Porc, Deer steak all were excellent. The menu is available in French, German and English and they remember our preference. We always were seated at the same table, but change was possible when we asked to sit with a couple we met there. Room service was quick and efficient and the same price as having lunch in the Spa or elsewhere in the hotel. We didn't have dinner in Gualt Millau awarded restaurant.

The staff was very friendly, they tried to know our name and room number, so they didn't need to ask. They have a good sense of humor, but politely waited until we made a joke. There was a welcome cocktail before dinner on Sunday where the drinks are free and the Singer family was present. When we had questions about the hotel, the surroundings or to book the Neuschwanstein castle, they were helpful.

The spa was nice, luxurious and very relaxing. It also offers some places to retreat together in the garden, without being close to other people and a silent room inside. The gym was very well equipped. We didn't use the sauna, which was a shame. Spa treatments were very good, but had to be booked well in advance. The Spa is located on the other side of the road and connected through a short tunnel.

Some nice touches were the backpack and walking sticks that could be used during the stay. There was fruit and water in room on arrival and an iron and ironing board was brought up to the room.

The average age of the guests was well over 40, we were quite a bit younger. Many were French, German, American, Austrian and Swiss. For the young people there is one minor warning. Wifi in the hotel reaches a 1Mbit/s maximum to the outside world. This is very limited and has to be shared with other guests. It is great for surfing to find local destinations, do Facebook and a bit of e-mail etc. but not great for streaming video. It seems the hotel doesn't deserve blame, because in many villages in Tirol this is the maximum that is available.

My husband and I have just returned from a week long stay in the Singer Hotel and Spa.
I can honestly say it met with all our expectations of what makes a Hotel stay wonderful and even more than that!
We have travelled a great deal over the years and have stayed in many hotels all over the world
What makes this hotel special, is the dedication and close involvement of the Singer family....from the Senior Singers to the the young Singers, Florian and his new wife Cristina
They were always around in the nicest way possible, always helpful and polite and mingling with their guests.....my husband and I honestly don,t know how they manage to do that every day with smiles on their faces!!
The staff without exception were always charming and polite.....we must mention them all from the Reception (Herr Vogt & his professional attitude), Christiana in the Spa and her lovely girls, Jaqueline in the Restaurant who looked after us and especially me as I have a problem with Dairy products....she made sure all the food I had was OK!
Nadjia in the Spa Bistro was also delightful and a very good linguist...speaking very good English....she is leaving soon to go back to Holland and I am sure she will be missed by the Singer Hotel
The food is fantastic and every evening the meals were of the highest standard....every meal a delight
Our memories of this Hotel are wonderful and thank you to the Singer family and ALL the staff!

We loved every minute of our stay (we had the Loreakopf Suite) and are already planning our next trip

Room Tip: We stayed in the Loreakopf suite on the 3rd floor which is very spacious with wonderful views.....ve...

This Relais and Chateau resort and spa is a jewel in the Austrian countryside town of Berwang. A little off the beaten path, it was the perfect place to relax for a few days. It is located about 40 minutes from Ludwig II castles in Braveria Germany and 2+ hours from Munich. The family suite was comfortable for the 4 of us but the bunk beds would not work well for very tall teenagers or large young adults. The dual indoor/outdoor pool was a pleasure. The Spa facilities seem top notch although we did not partake. By far the best meals or our 17 days in Europe, this gourmet restaurant is truly top notch with a wine list to match. The restaurant staff and owner went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. We took a short nordic hike with a staff member that was also enjoyable.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room in the back

We vacationed in late March with our 12 year old son and have only the best to say about the Hotel, the staff, the food and the proximity of the superb skiing. Staff: from the front desk (Annika and the always helpful gentleman with the glasses), to the restaurant (Markus, Nicole, et al) to the pool and spa staff -- nothing but high praise for their helpfulness, smiles and responsiveness.

Room was perfect in all ways, spacious, with a view of the piste. All meals were very good, with one or 2 meals of the highest quality.

And the comfort we had in having our child feel so welcomed by all made it great.

After three busy days in Munich during Oktoberfest, we set off to the Singer Sportshotel and Spa. We were looking an intimate place near not too far to visit the Neuschwanstein castle. The Singer was just what Herr Doktor ordered. Set in a lovely valley in Tyrol, the hotel had the perfect combination of tradition and world class service. As we have found with other Relais and Chateaux properties, the services, ambiance and food were all excellent. The room, a suite with sitting area and balcony overlooking the valley was very comfortable and had a wonderful 'traditional' feel. The spa was magnificent with indoor-outdoor pool nestled with a lovely view. The restaurant was exceptional and the staff made us feel right at home. Only stayed for a night, but would love to return possibly in the winter since it is set right in a ski area. Overall a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Room with view of valley and mountains.

Such a pleasant experience. Our second stay was even better than the first. We will go back for Christmas. The family and staff really do pamper their guests. The Hotel is very comfortable and traditional. The Spa is typical Austrian and Berwang is good for skiers, walkers and counry lovers.
Cap that with food to please and you are left with Singers

Room Tip: Go for a South facing, with balcony
