We live near Newboro, a tiny community on the historic Rideau Canal system, and feel truly spoiled by having such a top-notch restaurant at our door. While the area has several typical touristy eateries, the Stagecoach is several cuts above in atmosphere, service and food. The menu is small but includes a range from beef to ostrich to lamb and salmon as well as excellent appetizers and salads. Prices are mid-range and, best of all, you may bring your own wine for a modest corkage fee. On our visits, we found the staff both friendly and competent. The restaurant holds about 60 and very popular through the summer months so reservations are a good idea. Its hours and days open for luncheon and dinner vary depending on the season.
