I had been traveling in Dordogne for a week in April 2013, and the weather was quite cold and damp. I made my way to Pyla, and checked into Cote du Sud for 2 nights. Suddenly the weather changed, and spring began. A perfect location to enjoy the weather. The rooms are themed to different locations in the world. I stayed in the Polynesian room which had a balcony that had a view of the ocean. It is close to a small village with several nice restaurants (check out Le Jardin for fun international dishes). The hotel also has a gourmet restaurant...the pork medallions are light and tasty.
You are quite close to the giant and famous Pyla sand dunes. Bike paths are everywhere. You are also just a few minutes from Arcachon with great seafood restaurants and plenty of shopping.
Trust me, this is where you want to be when the weather warms up. We're goingto go back in July for a couple of days.
